Don't worry Abney. I am sure you'll do fine. The longer the presentation the easier it is.

I sure wish I could lecture for 1.25 hours on sheep. I could discuss them for an uninterrupted chunk of time and the students would have to listen...or at least be physically present.

so i have this lovely x-acto 3 hole punch that i've had for ~4 years and as of this semester, one of the springs likes to jam and not give my pages back. it can usually be wiggled, banged around, threatened, and finally released, but aside from purchasing a new one (heaven forbid that existed here it would probably be $30) anybody have any thoughts on making that one spring happier? my parasit prof said that approximately 25% of 4th year students get crypto every year

We had an ENTIRE lecture on proper handwashing when being with the cattle because of this. They actually examine the first years (not the GEPs) on proper handwashing, so you could actually fail out if you don't wash your hands properly. Crypto is a problem amongst the students because quite a few students don't come from farming backgrounds and have yet to encounter it (especially the US students). Also, crypto is simply a part of the farm where they teach us at, they have problems with it. It is mostly avoided by handwashing, but we were told to not be surprised if a few of us still catch it. that it doesn't happen to me. Of course, I scrub my hands clean at the end of each practical. Currently, there is a bigger issue at the farm... crypto is the least of our worries... Of course, we haven't had to be back at the farm since our practicals at the beginning of the semester so I don't have to worry about catching the crypto or the other issue.

I would think it is common sense to not let the calves suckle on your hands and to wash your hands after handling animals and to not touch your face while working with the calves, but who knows, I guess some people don't take it seriously.
