Hello,

I know the medical school rankings (schools # 1-100(?)) are posted somewhere but I have actively searched and can't find it anywhere!

If anyone has it somewhere I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

I don't know about rankings posted on SDN, but you can go to usnews to get 1-50.

thanks.
but, I actually wanted schools ranked after #50. have any info about that??? thanks again

they are here somewhere

search of Gourman rankings or Gorman, not sure

try a yahoo search of U.S. News and World Report best grad schools

Are the schools that aren't on the list just not ranked?

Oh that is just a listing of the schools based on reseach...

I would think so. Oh my god I think there's a fire in my hospital right now.....isn't that what code red means?

Code red does means fire emergency. Are they evacuating the hospital?

thanks so much for the info!!!!!!

oh..and hope your building's not on fire!

LOL thanks for the concern. I guess they put it out or something. Those codes are so ridiculous anyway....I remember when that old guy mowed through the farmers market and they kept announcing code yellow, we all stood around staring at eachother like "what the hell does that mean, someone pissed themselves?"

My favorite is code lavender, for flamboyant gay man on the loose...

Where are you working? UCLA or St. Johns?

UCLA at the NPI

UCLA Med has code red like ten times a day....I basically just ignore the alerts unless they're for rooms right next to me.

where are you? we should go grab a beer at Maloneys.

Yes, for instance, SUNY. Anybody have any idea about where Downstate falls?

LOL...So I guess there're not many choices now that Madison's is closed

My favorite code at my hospital in West Covina was Code Brown for what we called "Bowel Emergencies."

I'm guessing not very high. It's a great school tho. The clinical exposure is INTENSE at Downstate and their biggest selling point is Kings County Hospital (in addition to being cheap for instaters). In fact, my interviewer as well as the administrators said they get a few cases of tertiary syphilis every year and they've even gotton patients with Malaria!
They have a limited amount of research $$$ which is why I would think their ranking would be low.

Once you get past the top ranked 20 or so med schools it really makes little difference. The residency match lists are comparable in quality for most schools beyond this level.Unless you are planning an academic career (only a very small percentage of grads do this)research funding and connections at the top places will matter.Otherwise I suggest making your choice based on economic, curriculum, and geographic factors.

It's $10 for the online edition but if you prefer the hard copy edition, it's also $10

It's a useful thing to keep in mind when you select schools.

Yup, their students matched pretty well.
