Hi

Im from Canada. I need to know which schools accept the most international students, or schools which have a low requrement for GPA's.

What is the mean average gpa I need to have in order to be considered ?

Is their a website which summarizes all this information ?

http://www.aacp.org/

Familiarize yourself with this site, especially the "For Students" section.

Thanks alot!!!

But looking at the stats, there are few foreign students who get accepted!!!

Does this mean, virtually all foreign applicants with a avg. GPA get rejected ?

thanks

I can't answer that for sure; I'm not on the adcom. But my opinion is this: a foreign student who wishes to attend college in the US must be an exceptional applicant. Remember that this applicant will take the place of an American student, so they'd better be beyond simply "average."

Just my opinion; others' mileage may vary.

Don't get discouraged; the low numbers probably reflect the fact that few foreign students apply. Also, a lot of pharm schools pride themselves on the diversity of their classes, so depending on where you're from, I think your background might actually help you.

The fact of the matter is that admissions are competitive for everyone. A foreign applicant with average stats doesn't have the best chances, but neither does a native applicant with average stats. Try taking more classes to boost up your gpa (even if you've already graduated and don't need them) and involve yourself in diverse extracurriculars that might get you noticed by the admissions committees. Also, when you're writing your essays, play up the fact that your background is unique and talk about how you plan to use to bring something unique to the pharmacy profession and to the pharmacy school you're applying. In other words, don't try to make them want you DESPITE the fact that you're a foreign applicant, but rather BECAUSE OF it.

Good luck! 🙂
