She told me the problem was that this Dr. was afraid of telling me. I will be getting in touch with the DEA because I don't trust her. But she could have left a note and been non-confrontational
I think she just got caught doing something she shouldn't have and got called on it.

She's the one that has yelled at me and snaps at me in front of people. She broke my drawer and didn't think it was important to tell me? Even after I let her know that it looked like it was broken into? Seriously? Something fishy is going on - and I guarantee it isn't because she's afraid of me.

😱 Are you freaking kidding me? This woman needs to be taken care of and now. What on Earth was she even doing near your drawer? And your director sounds like she needs to get her stick on the ball! You have my sympathies and so much more. If you need a torch or pitchfork carrier, just let me know!

how do you "accidentally" go into someone else's drug drawer?? 😕 this story smells as much as my med school roommates rotting food.

and scared of you? regardless of how she actually feels, one wouldnt think youd want to admit that to management. not when you're the senior person (makes you sound a bit foolish and weak). it's too bad that someone like this is part of the profession giving vets a bad name :-/

If that's the case, I feel like that in itself should warrant her to get sacked if not written up. I mean wtf was she doing not only in your drawer but your box too? And even *if* breaking the locks were by accident, just leaving it open with your license on the line??? Something def smells over there, and it's not just anal glands. Sorry your coworker and boss suck so much.

That is completely f'd up. She could completely ruin your career doing stuff like that. I really hope you are able to report the incident. What a bitch; you need to get out of there ASAP!!

Geez, Dyachei, it's just one thing after another... I'm sorry you're going through this!

My own rant is insignificant in the long run, but I'm amazed at how many people fail to write their name on the response card AND fail to put a return address. So far, we've gotten only a fraction of them back for our wedding, but we've had an unknown person reserve 2 seats, and another who is unable to come. I don't get it... It's a mystery that my fiance and I are really trying to work out... unfortunately they're from the same big city where a fairly significant portion of our guests are from, so it's not as easy as comparing postmarks to guest locations.

I always thought that if I were inviting a bunch of people to a huge thing and using RSVP cards, I would probably somehow identify the cards I was sending out for this very reason. Idiot-proof barcodes...

dyachei, I hope everything gets better for you soon. You don't deserve to have to put up with all of this crap. 🙁
 
I'm ranting about insignificant school stuff too:

1st day back from break (quarter sytem), I have 7 lectures in a row. 9-4, no lunch break. In the same room. The fuuuuuuu

This always happens. Wedding reply cards are so silly, because there is no place for the name. The reply cards are usually stamped so people don't bother with return address. I did this once myself, oops.

You usually have to wait until most of the replies are in and then contact people saying you haven't received their reply, although technically you did.

I thought most if not all wedding RSVPs had a space for the name? Something like this M______________ for them to fill in their name. At least that's what mine had on them.

Because they have a hell of a time trying to fit all of the elective courses that we can register for this quarter into the normal 9-12 and 1-5 space that isn't already taken up with our core courses and labs, and they don't want to schedule them at the same time as one another so that people can take any/all of them that they want. So Food Animal Medicine is at noon 4 days a week. hurf

Yeah, we had electives that were at noon before but usually only once or twice a week. This 4 days a week thing is blech. It isn't really "eating" that's the problem so much as "literally being held captive in one room for 7 hours with no more than a 10 minute break between while people talk at you."

Ugh I got really burned on my chest this weekend and now it burns and itches and hurts🙁. I made fun of a co-worker for getting burned really badly the weekend before so I feel especially silly. I am wearing T-shirts to cover it til it looks better so I don't get what I gave hehe.

I had second degree burns on my chest when I was 15 from falling asleep... I feel your pain!! BE CAREFUL and feel better!

OMG I just had a mental breakdown about it. My BF thinks I'm psycho as of right now lol.
I am SO SICK of the size restrictions for dogs. Breed restrictions are annoying enough... WHY SIZE restrictions?!?!?! Definitely got my way though lol....
I pointed out that it was really silly of them to turn away two graudate students with guaranteed rent payments for 4 years because of 30 extra dog pounds... I was only on hold for 15 seconds or so! 😀 That's what I THOUGHT biznitches! 😉
BTW, they claimed size restrictions are for safety issues of going down the stairs 🙄.

But yeah, you find one place that is perfect, but way too far away, or another place that is a really great price with a great floorplan, and then you see how TINY it is! (I plan on being home a lot for my dog and bc I study better alone so I don't want to be in 200 sq feet!). I found a huge place for really cheap, 1/2 mile from campus, with no size or breed restricions, and then found out it's in the middle of the damn ghetto... *sigh* 🙁

gaaahh this sounds horrible!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds this process so extremely difficult!! I hope you find one you like soon!! I'm about ready to just settle on the next place I look at. I think I'm being too picky but seriously, I'm going to have to like where I live because I am a much better studier at home and alone too. uggh

People with housing issues- have you checked out Craig's List? There is a plethora of housing options in East Lansing, so we never have a problem. But, when I want someone to sublease, I post on Craig's List or on our school's version of Craig's List.

I spoke to may insurance company a couple days ago (Friday) and explained the situation and how my PCP was being uncooperative (and how unacceptable that was to me, esp. because I work hard for my insurance). I was told to call PCP again, and inform them that: 1) my insurance only covers the shot if the PCP gives it or refers me to someone who does; 2) If PCP doesn't want to order the shot or doesn't know who to refer me to, she needs to contact the insurance company for a list of MD's that are recommended by the insurance company; 3) PCP needs to refer me to someone from the list.

My plan for is to be a PITA and call the office every day until I get a referral: it's a month-long series and I leave my job at the end of June/start of July, so something has to happen soon (by the end of May)!

Try to contact your insurance provider, make sure it is covered, explain that your PCP is not helpful and ask if they have something similar (a list of MD's that will provide the vaccination series that your PCP should be able to make a referral from). It will be so worth it if your insurance covers it!

In other news, why is it so FLIPPING difficult for me to find a job?! SA place hasn't called me back yet so I'm getting ready to toss in an application for dog walker and zoo attendant where I'm assuming I will shovel goat poop and talk to people. Which sounds pretty awesome compared to absolutely nothing! (Actually it sounds pretty awesome anyway. Goats are cute.) But I don't want to submit an application somewhere before I hear back from SA place. And I know I should just suck it up and call them and ask but then I feel pushy and I'm assuming he hasn't called back because he hasn't got the summer schedule sorted out. So then I'd feel like a douche saying, "HEY tell me either way because I need to know if I need to apply to another job" even though it's reasonable and argh. I just want a job nailed down for the summer. I'm going to contact the two other options and try to get the ball rolling.

Awesome, awesome, awesome! Thanks so much for sharing that with me! 🙂 I leave my job the same time as well so that's why I wanted to start the process also. Thanks again! I am dealing with wisdom teeth stuff right now (My dental insurance runs out mid-May) and I have to have them removed before then... oh procrastination 😀

Your insurance probably has a list on the website to search for docs. I would recommend talking to some of them and then just handing the name and number to your pcp for an official referral. I had luck with my travel clinic.
 
I've just made a decision. Me taking a full comprehensive ochem test to satisfy a GENERAL chem requirement is total BS. I don't want to reteach myself this crap (IUPAC naming, functional groups, stereochemistry, etc...) b/c it's useless and has absolutely NO use for medicine. It's just another damn hoop that I'm wasting my time, energy, and money on. Hell, I'm on a wait list = NOT accepted. I'm calling them tomorrow and forfeiting my spot. Let someone else jump through the flaming hoops.
