Had to help a little boy say goodbye to his dog last night. It was a tough one...

Yet, it usually seems that they handle it best.

My husband is trying to pick fights over everything today. I don't know what his deal is. I am trying to study for my bacteriology quiz tomorrow but I can't focus because he has literally found four things to fight over, from me not having done the dishes yet today to me asking him to leave money in our bank account so that I can get gas tomorrow. Apparently now I just use him for his money (he is a firemen- they don't make a lot of money).He made me cry and then told me to quit crying and act like an adult. All I want to do right now is study but I can't focus. Oh, and I'm lucky because the only thing I have to worry about is school while he worries about everything else. 😡 I'm really tempted to tell him to take a freaking midol.

Over time he can make decent money. I think the average fireman's salary is 42k or something close to that. He is in his first year at this department so yeah, a lot less than that. Fire chiefs make a lot more than that but that takes a long time to do. Retirement pension is where the money's at but that's like 25 years down the road

Yeah, my stepfather is a fire chief, and is eligible for retirement already but just waiting around until my mom is eligible to retire from her crappy job that she hates so that they can sell their house and basically become vagrants living nowhere long-term and just traveling all the time. It sounds like they will be all set!

Sorry your husband is being a dick Lissa. Hopefully he just shoves a tampon in it and shuts up until he gets over whatever little hissy thing is actually bothering him.

Thanks guys! Unfortunately, I have another rant. I ordered something from amazon. It didn't qualify for 2 day free shipping. Whatever, no big deal. It got here today which was sooner than I thought. I open up the package and it's the wrong thing! It's the same type but wrong brand. I got on amazon to see what the difference was. The thing I bought was $5 more than what they sent. I'm a cheap ass so it pissed me off. Also the brand I received had horrible reviews. Ugh! Get your **** together amazon seller. Now I have to wait for the seller to approve the return before I can even send it back.

The head vet/owner of the practice I work at breeds bengals with her partner. So she had a cat that is a first time mom give birth over the weekend. Mom laid on top of two of the babies and killed them, and then stopped nursing two of the remaining four one after another.

So said vet was taking care of the two that weren't being fed. She was tube feeding them because she insists they wouldn't take a nipple (which she didn't try), but the little guys don't like the nipple at first, it's not mom, it sucks until they realize milk comes out of it.

She wasn't feeding them often enough, wasn't keeping them on enough heat. So then today she decided she wanted me to take them. Now these are $1000 a piece kittens, so I was a little reluctant to put in a whole bunch of time and energy just so she could sell them in the end. But obviously when it comes to kitties I can't say no, so I agreed, but at this point these guys look like crap.

So one of the other vets who is my mentor and who raises a ton of kittens every year had told her last night to give them to me, but owner vet hadn't wanted to then. So now mentor vet looks at them today and says they are going to die and I shouldn't take them because I'm just going to slave over them, they are going to die, and then I'm just going to be upset. She was furious with owner vet for not taking better care of them, and told her if she had given them to me last night they would have been fine (which is awkward as you can imagine). So I don't know if owner vet took them home or mentor vet took them, but either way it's just a sad situation that is going to end in dead kittens. Bleh, today just stunk.

That sounds terrible. I encourage you to let the admissions know how relevant you felt the test was - like, was it a good indicator that you had taken chem and then refreshed it in your mind well enough to pass? If it really was just a pile of random and seemingly irrelevant crap, tell them nicely that they may want to consider exploring some other way for a person to refresh their old prereqs.

I hope it went well enough for you to eke by, at least. I want you here this fall!

Dude just hit me with a bunch of low-blows in a meeting about shiz he has NOOOOO clue about! He is a worthless piece of crap and they have been trying to fire him for 13 years (It's hard to fire someone where I work). Departments literally shove him onto each other bc he is literally good for NOTHING! So dude thinks he's gonna hit me with low blows today... too bad they've already cleared out his desk for him tomorrow! Don't let the door hit ya on the way out! 🙄

Thanks, TT. I did consider contacting them today to tell them the contents of the exam. However, I've decided rather to wait until I get the final word. I would hate to, by some miracle, have them call me with an acceptance, find out I squeaked by on the exam, and then have to do some other god forsaken chemical ritual in order to qualify for admission. So, I think that sitting tight is the way to go right now.

Really, I don't know. Apparently, they haven't had someone sit for this particular exam in YEARS. Could be why it was so antiquated. For your notes... This was an examination the medical school I work for gives to pre-health professional students that want the chance to 'test out' of a lower level course. This was their test for 'General Chemistry II'. **You may now put your eyes back in your head.** I actually took the exam in a deserted office in the back of the continuing education department. The coordinator there is a riot - she lead me into the room and when I tried to put my coat down she told me to use the chair because the only flat surface she dusted was the desk I was about to sit at. The nice part was that I was the only one taking a test today; so I was allowed to talk my way through the questions that I needed to.
