This storm isn't even bad, unless they can sense something coming that I don't know about. Little bit of thunder, little bit of lightning but it hasn't been horrible. No really bad storms recently that I can remember, either. We had some thunder a few weeks ago and they were perfectly fine with it.

Already broke out the rescue remedy and added that to some cookies.

Mine was fine until last year and all the sudden she just started flipping out during storms. She tries to crawl under all the furniture and if I leave the bathroom door open she will crawl in and out of the bathtub. Luckily I have a dog with seizures so I have phenobarb for sedation on hand...😴

They're considering it idiopathic ventrical tachycardia right now. They said the vessels sort of branch up and backwards, instead of down. (I never spoke with a doctor and my friend is rather lay about medicine 😉 ) She will have to be on beta blockers and some other drug (starts with an A) for a few years and it will either correct itself, or they will perform surgery in a few years. Me having just takin cardio and watching the monitors, I could definitely see her little heart is all sorts of whacked. 🙁
She called me last night and lost it. She'd been dealing with all this on autopilot since Monday morning and when she was able to go home for a minute and be alone it all hit her hard 🙁. Her life was beautiful and out of nowhere her perfect little baby has a life changing health issue. A lot to handle. Wish I could take some of her stress away.

MY part of the east coast isn't warm. Well, it's starting to be nice, but it's supposed to be down in the 50s again over the weekend. I just want to have a warm weekend! I have picnics and stuff planned with my friends that need to happen before graduation.
 
We are having some poop problems at casa de felinelvr. One of my cats (or perhaps more than one?) seems to be having diarrhea. Three of them have been eating in the bedroom recently so that the slow/picky eater can have run of the rest of the house and take his time. This was working great except that apparently someone didn't use the litterbox before meal time and couldn't hold it. So they pooped on my bed. Fair enough, nothing a little high test detergent and bleach can't get out. Then this morning on my way to the shower I stepped in some mucus-y stool. 😱 I don't think it was left there on purpose... it was probably stuck on someone's butt-fur and then they sat down there but it was gross. And not the way I wanted to start my day.🙄
 
Ugh that final did not go well. I'm really worried about my final grade in two classes. I'm going to be so stressed out until I get my grades back. God I don't know what I'm going to do if I didn't pass.

Didn't you just have a baby? Take it easy on yourself. Studying and taking care of a newborn at the same time is not an easy thing to do. I know it sucks not to do well, but stressing yourself out about it won't help anything.

yeah that was bad. very very bad. there were some small animal questions I don't remember ever talking about :-/

I haven't had enough sleep in a couple days (and am on the verge of that time of the month), both of which make me a lot more emotional than normal. This local news article just made me very sad, on top of the Boston and Texas tragedies... 🙁

No one was in the house at the time, but a dog died in the fire, authorities said.

Firefighters had to restrain resident Matt Savage and one of his sons to prevent them from running inside to try to rescue the dog, a 10-year-old terrier mix named Spirit.

"I wanted to go in there and get Spirit, but they wouldn't let me," Savage said. "I bet you she was just scared to death."

"She's irreplaceable," said his wife, Brenda Savage.​
 
I hate this farm. I hate this lambing place. I was told I would not be expected to work full time and I would be given plenty of time to study. It is not happening. I have been working 12+ hours/day for nearly two weeks now. Today the hours have been 6:30AM (when I woke up this morning) and I will have to stay up until 2AM to keep checking on the sheep. Seriously. I get that they have activities and **** going on but if that is the case, they should have gotten extra help on the farm and not relied on myself and the other girl doing EMS here to do everything. Then I will have to be up at 9AM tomorrow and she is expecting us to do the night shift again and we are thankfully going home tomorrow but we leave at 8:30AM. So I will be up until 2AM but have to be up at 6:30AM to get the morning **** done so that I can get home. Ugh. This is only part of the issues here... there are other things that I am not too happy about as well that they do, but it is what it is.

Adding this stress on top of the other stuff that I am already dealing with and I am just not doing so well.. I hate my life.

I have a lot I could rant about right now, but it just doesn't seem right with all that is going on in our country right now... Very sad week for Americans. So instead of rant, I will be thankful for everything that I have and the opportunities I will have.

Found my first cockroach in the apartment...and I really miss my dog today. My mom had one of her first bad days in a while since his passing. She's trying to figure out if she's ready for another corgi because the house is too quiet.

Holy hells, wtf. Shots fired on MIT campus, and a campus officer's down. My bf lives right around the corner, so I call to make sure he's home and not out late playing hockey... and of course he was asleep. This is way too much violence for one week 🙁

Yeah and they supposedly just killed one of the Boston bombers in a shoot out and are searching for the other who fled. Apparently the dead one had tons of explosives tied to is chest again.

The news I'm seeing is that it's all related. They think one of the suspects killed the MIT officer. Scary stuff.

Yep, all related. All MBTA and taxi service shut down in Boston. Everyone in Boston and surrounding towns told to stay home and businesses to remain closed. This week needs to be over now. 🙁

he supposedly killed the MIT officer and they carjacked an SUV, which they brought into some suburb. That's where the shoot-out occurred. The other suspect AFAIK is still at large.

Just heard a few minutes ago that they might have him cornered at a house in Watertown, MA. They've basically cordoned off the entire town and are going door to door looking for him. Really hope they get him so all of this can finally stop.

I'm listening to NPR right now... apparently they realized Associated Press had interviewed the bomber who was killed a few years ago because he was a champion boxer. According to the report, he was 26 and has been in the US for five years. He was an engineering student. At the time of the interview, he commented that he had not been able to make a single American friend.

This interview kind of suggests a school-shooter type profile, although it sounds like they aren't discounting organized terror links yet.

Very sad overall. Hopefully they catch the other guy soon and its just two guys acting independently.

A friend made a comment on Facebook this morning that the world really isn't any more nuts than it was before, events like this are just much more heavily publicized by the media than they ever were before. Not to mention that the media is a lot more uninhibited about the kind of images/material they report than they were just a couple decades ago. I thought that was kind of interesting. I do remember seeing a study recently that showed that although the statistics indicate that gun crimes in the U.S. have not significantly increased over the past 20-30 years, but because the media has a field day every time something bad happens involving guns, much of the American public believes there's been a drastic increase in gun crime. It's all about perspective, I guess.

I don't know, I found that sort of comforting in a weird way. Still doesn't restore my faith in humanity though. 🙁

I think if its linked its ok, but since the picture was visible on the thread , it violates the ToS, I believe.
 
So I just got in from taking my dog outside. He has been going back and forth between having diarrhea and enema requiring constipation (he's part of the "why is my dog falling apart" SDN club atm). And of course he's long haired and dispite the fact I've trimmed up his hiney, he still ends up with stinky butt. Come back from cleaning him up to see my parrot sitting on my open laptop screen with a nice dribble of poo down the screen and the bulk of it in the hinge. Awesome. Can I just have a moment without cleaning up animal excrement please?

BFs australian shepherd had an issue with this throughout her life. Once it got really bad when she was ill and I seriously ended updoing a surgical shave on her entire butt. Poor thing.
 
Sooo my fiancé got here today. Haven't seen him in forever and we had an awesome weekend planned. And then I broke my foot. 😎
Our first 3 hours together have been in the ER 🙄

I hate people that try to guilt trip you into helping them. This farmer is trying this now, I can already tell it. We had a calving emergency today complete with milk fever cow, calling out vet to deliver calf and calf having deformed forelimbs that should correct themselves eventually, but until then the calf needs to be tube fed. The farmer is leaving to go out of town tomorrow, myself and the other girl are leaving to go home tomorrow and she has called a neighbour out to watch the sheep. She is already starting with the, "I feel so bad leaving (insert neighbour's name here) with the calf to feed." "I wish I had someone here to feed that calf." I am just waiting for her to ask us to stick around to help with the calf... the answer at this point isn't just no... it is HELL NO! I have been here for 2 weeks worked 12+ hours/day (when the other girl and myself were both told in an email that we would not be required to work full time), have to stay up until 2AM tonight and be up by 6:30-7AM tomorrow morning, have to feed the sheep in the morning and then get home so I can study for my exams that I have starting on MONDAY.

She has now: Told us we would not have to work full time and we have, she then "forgot" to tell us that they had a wedding to go to the first weekend after we got here (BS, you don't forget about a wedding, especially the one they went to) leaving us here basically on our own. I am most definitely NOT staying here; I have to get home to study, I have to get some groceries, I have to do laundry because all my clothes are dirty and smell of sheep. I am NOT staying.

Oh, to top it all off, she (yes, the farmer) left the gate open letting all of the sheep out and we had to go chase them all down and get them back in. This is the second time she had done this, the first time I caught the gate before any sheep could run out. :bang:

I can NOT wait to get home.
