For realz. It's just shy of being 2 years old, less than 25K on it. I got no kind of warnings about a battery or anything. 🙁 Ran perfectly fine last night. No lights left on that I can tell (everything's automatic). Just hoping it's an easy fix...please, please, please. -fingers crossed-

It's good for it to be happening this early if it's covered under warranty. :xf: (not that I think it should happen, but better now then later 🙂) It's such a pain not having a car while they work on it though.

depends on where you live, but batteries can go bad pretty quickly. I had a similar issue and it turned out to be the battery. The good news? they are relatively cheap and easy to fix. good luck

Yes, I am fortunate that it's going wrong now. Just trying to get this done around my work schedule is a pain.

We jumped it and the car still won't start. I've called a towing company and will just have to have someone take me to the dealership tomorrow to get a rental. Luckily, the dealership will cover the towing expense and a rental while my car is being worked on since it is under warranty. I wish it had just been the battery, though. Much less of a pain to deal with. Oh well, it's not all bad. Thanks! 🙂

What kind of car is it? It's probably the starter. Did you check the battery terminals? Sometimes the can just become loose, rusted, or disconnected. My car is older and sometimes has problems starting, esp in the winter. Instead of starting the engine right away, I turn on the accessories and let them run for a second before turning the key to turn on the engine...that seems to help. But I read that your car is relatively new....hopefully it is not a lemon!

2012 Altima. It's been a perfect little car since I bought it last February. We fiddled around with everything, but nothing seemed to help. It's en route to the dealership now, so I'm going to leave it in their hands. I can pick my rental up in the morning if it hasn't been fixed by then. It's under warranty until February 2015, so everything should (hopefully) be covered. I guess I'll figure out the damage later today or tomorrow morning. 😳
 
My move-in date has changed AGAIN. We're back to Saturday again now. Apparently my landlady convinced the tourists to check out on Saturday morning so I could move in on Saturday afternoon. I appreciate the effort, but I really wish she had told me she was going to do that, considering I've spent the past two days working under the assumption that I would be moving on Sunday.

I was tempted to say screw it, I'm going on Sunday now and its her own fault if she has a problem with that . .
but I really would prefer to be there a day earlier. So now I'm scrambling to change plans AGAIN and have everything ready to go in three days.

Seriously, what the hell. She's not only screwing with my plans, she's screwing with my boyfriend's, my mom's, our housesitter, the boarding kennel for my mom's dog, etc, etc. It's not like I'm just packing a backpack and taking a stroll here. I'm moving and across an international boarder no less. I can't keep changing things back and forth at the last minute like this. 😡😡😡

If it's a bacterial infection, mix a small amount of rubbing alcohol and white vinegar, 50/50 mix. Use a dropper and put 2-4 drops in, rub in and tilt head over a towel to drain. Then blow dry ear on low setting. It will sting at first, but then it feels much better! You can do it multiple times a day if you want. Only way I could sleep when I had one a few years ago.

It's NOT better than using antibiotics, but it does help some.

Ehh, there is some evidence that vinegar is ototoxic... might want to let a doctor confirm that the tympanic membrane is intact before we start internet prescribing 😛

Do you know of any references? I'm curious because I've never heard of this before... and I routinely clean my dog's ears with dilute vinegar to get rid of smells and caked on swamp junk after swimming lol
 
Had a 90lb great pyrenees mix lunge at me today because of fear issues. -.- It was not a good start to my afternoon.
 
I might be the only single straight person left in my class.
 
I really wish people would take injured or orphaned wildlife to a licensed rehabber instead of keeping them and trying to raise them on their own. Pest control found a nest of baby rabbits outside, saw the mother killed and gave the two remaining babies (literally the size of golf balls) to a coworker who is now parading them around the office 😡

Welp, they'll be dead very soon unless they get to a rehabber. Wild bunnies are very, very, very hard to keep alive because they haaaate syringe feeding.
 
I wanted to run a couple of errands today and got a late morning start. Now that I am ready, I am starting to hear thunder and don't want to get stuck somewhere.

Made an effort to listen to the conversations going on around me at work this morning to see what the fuss is about. I typically like to be in my own little oblivious world if it doesn't pertain to a pet. After what I heard this morning I think I should have just stayed there. It's pretty bad when you talk trash about someone immediately after they leave the area, and vice versa.


Nooooooo thank you. Nope nope nope.

Work eavesdropping is fun sometimes. The co-worker bashing not so much.

Everyone around my cubicle has to take "general public" calls about environmental health issues. After the calls, everyone shares their stories. It's usually very amusing. Like little old women calling to report dead flies in their homes or people calling to request the state health department to come and clean up mold in their bathrooms.
 
I bought a pack of cheap razors and they suck. They don't last and I used a new one yesterday and cut my ankle. It hurts and itches.
 
The airline lost my bag; it wasn't there in Dallas when I arrived so I asked the lady at the baggage desk and she insisted that my bag HAD to be there (I had already walked around the baggage claim section a number of times), so she goes to look as well and can't find it. So then she checks the computer and says, "Oh, I am sorry it says that they put your flight on a direct flight from London to Phoenix since you had a short layover." Um.. you could have told me this BEFORE we went searching and wasting more time. So, I get home and sure enough American Airlines can't find my bag, which makes sense because it was put on a British Airways flight. I tell that to the lady at baggage and she says, "Oh we can't see British Airways information, so I don't know that, I don't know how the lady in Dallas was able to tell you that." So I check on-line to see if there is any update today and there isn't, but the stupid lady last night had all of the details for my baggage wrong... she marked it as a green bag... it is navy blue (I told her that twice), she mentioned there were purple shoes in the bag... I repeated to her the type of shoes and color (white and green) 3 times. Seriously. So, I call them and talk to someone else, she is able to see that the bag was put on a flight from London to Phoenix (how she was able to see it and the other lady was not is lost on me). This lady even quoted the same flight number as the lady in Dallas told me. So, it is probably sitting in the Phoenix airport now, but not at the American Airlines service desk... so they have to call the other service areas to find it... :bang: I am seriously considering calling British Airways myself and having them find it myself.

There's a *new* aloe product on the shelves now that has lidocaine in it. May want to try that. Ouch!

Also, when applying, wear gloves. Less friction when applying= a little less pain putting it on. And helps reduce chance of infection from possible dirty fingers. 👍

The gloves is a new idea, thanks. Yeah I've seen the aloe/lidocaine mixes before. I've been using aloe and trying something new that I've heard works well, noxzema.

UHM, both. Even though my parents don't contribute to my education or living expenses and I don't live with them, I have to be considered a dependent because I am under 24. BUT, they don't claim me on their tax return. WTF.

My school application wants me to send my parents residency information even though I don't even live with them. This seems very stupid to me. 😡
 
Nothing like logging onto facebook and finding out from your sister's status that your aunt died yesterday after spending a few weeks in the hospital.

Soooo nice of my family to tell me this was all going on. I had no idea she was sick, let alone critically ill.

I just made honey greek yogurt covered strawberries and put them in the freezer, the yogurt froze together -- F A I L
 
Brought my computer to Best Buy to get it repaired--they sent it out (the screen and keyboard were damaged). I got it back today. They ERASED my hard drive. WTF?!? Why were they even in my computer??? SO FREAKING ANGRY. I have all my data but lost my microsoft office package ($400 worth of software). I called them to complain (nowhere did the waiver I signed say they have the right to erase my drive), and they comped me a new version of office. Still freaking pissed.
 
My truck broke down ten miles from the Canadian border yesterday and we were stuck there for over three hours. $470 for a new alternator and battery. Finally arrived at my apartment at 2:30 AM today. This move has not been going well at all. 🙁

On the plus side, we were almost stuck until Monday because all the mechanics were closed for the weekend. So it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been.

Used a store credit card for the first time in a year and stupidly thought the due date couldn't be that close to the day I used the card. First late credit card payment and I'm super bummed about it.
 
I wish SyFy would not play back-to-back horror movies on Sunday nights. Sleeping can't compete with crappy entertaining slasher movies. I guess that I'm going to have a sleepy Monday at work.
 
I've got one of those nasty headaches that you get from reading strain. That's what you get for staring at a screen all day at work and coming home and doing more of it at night, I guess. 🙁

and for whatever reason, I never saw fit to purchase any tylenol or ibuprofen upon moving out....👎

That happened to me in the spring...worst burn of my life...and on my shins so I could barely stand. Once the peeling starts...don't use the lidocaine aloe.

I used vaseline and neosporin combo...no scars!
 
So this morning as I was getting ready, the dog was in the road and I stepped off to the side thinking it was fine to step on the trash bag on the floor that I thought only contained paper. I feel a sharp pain and look down to see the carpet turning bright red. I high tailed it to the bathroom and hiked my foot into the sink. The top of my middle toe was sliced deep. 😡

Once the bleeding stopped and I had disinfected and wrapped it, I went to see what the offending object was. The metal lid of the wet cat food that I had gone ahead and tossed in the nearest garbage. Sigh.

Now my toe has a dull ache as I sit in Physiology and review lipid bilayers.
