I have this same issue! I gain weight in my chest first and my waist last. I know people say it should be a blessing but it's SO HARD to find clothing. 🙄

My suit jacket size is larger, not for the same reason as you guys. Card-holder of IBTC, but with broad shoulders from swimming. 🙁
Not that I ever CHOOSE to wear dresses, but it makes me look pretty awkward when I do.

What happened?

We decided to take a(n ill-advised) flying leap across the room from the cat tree to the microwave, which is about 3' from the laptop. There happened to be a can of cherry zero residing on said microwave, which managed to splatter my keyboard when he hit.

It was stupid of me to leave it there, but at the time, I couldn't for the life of me envision a scenario where it would have been able to reach the computer from there. Planning FAIL.

I think it's going to survive. As for Bad Kitty, if he can just stop serenading/attempting to converse with me at four in the morning (how do you Siamese owners do it?) I can probably manage forgiveness. 😉

I'm one of those folks from 'good stock' and have always had a larger top than bottom thanks to my shoulders and chest. Got a complex sometime in my teens when I read that I was an 'inverted triangle' shape. Thankfully I've gotten over that! 🙄 Separates have ALWAYS been necessary and dresses are a pain in the rear. I can't begin to tell you how much $$$ I've shelled out to get bride's maid dresses altered... However, I've inflated and deflated so many times over the years that I've just placed myself into the saggy baggy crew.

I've always had a hard time with my weight. In the past few years, I gained close to 40-45lbs 😱 After some intervention from my younger sister, I'm going to the gym & eating healthier! (or trying to: the true test will be this semester back at 0 option cafeteria ) I'm a better sized 6 (Sorry, LMMS!) and I'm hoping to keep shedding those pounds so I'm a healthier weight for my short-ish stature (I'm 5'4" - somehow I grew an inch and I'm 22...)

I have a long-ish torso and stumpy legs. Bummer 🙁 What I wouldn't give for those lovely long legs people brag about.....haha

I have pretty decent body image issues sometimes, for no reason other than I'm hard on myself. And I'm 21 years old and 5'5". I gained like 10-15 lbs in the past couple of years and haven't been able to get rid of them! I gained when I stopped working 40 hours a week at a horse farm cleaning stalls though-THAT will make you ripped!

Oh dear, I forgot my after my post and now I've gone and done it! Yes, ALL sizes are beautiful!! And I like to tack on that if you're healthy that it doesn't matter what your size is. I've just always been amazed by the single digit sized folks because my bones are too big to allow me to ever be that way.

Also, I left out one little piece of information I should probably share... When I was younger, I was HUGE. I weighed over 250 (and I'm barely 5'5"). I learned to manage my weight as an adult and I'm THRILLED to be where I'm at because I'm HEALTHY! So, fear not all you youngins who aren't 'blessed' with jackrabbit metabolism - as long as you're healthy, you'll be happy. Promise! 😀

And Ellie - thanks for the junior's tip! I would have never thought to look there given that I never fit in them when I was a 'junior'. I bet I could actually find jeans that fit properly if I gave them shot given that I tend to run between sizes. Hmmmm...

Been there with my 7yo bub--on his, the FNA was suspicious for mast cells but the biopsy came back as a callus. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you also get good news!

We had a lump scare with one of my parents' dogs a few months ago. I was petrified, as our last Malamute had developed cancer at the same age. Thankfully, the thing was just a cyst. Hoping for similar news on your front!

I will admit that I've elected to leave his playpen up (despite the fact that said cat is now well-socialized and no longer needs it) for this very purpose. I love, love, love the running commentary during the day... at three in the morning, not so much. In the crate, he sings to himself for a few minutes and then falls asleep. For hours. It is fabulous. 😳

Probably could have gone down an entire size but the rest of the grey suits were skirt suits and I wanted to do pants. I hate how I look in the damn thing but whatever - if I'm lucky enough to get an interview this year, I'll only look ridiculous for a couple of hours. Other option is to return the thing tomorrow and buy myself a black suit although I was hoping to have something just a little different. If I can find a better jacket, though, it's probably worth it...

I'm a definite believer that fit matters more than color. So get the best fitted suit you can, even if it is black. I also had wanted a grey suit but struck out and ended up with an awesomely fitting black suit. I think it looks better than a shlumpy grey suit. Just get a fun shirt to wear underneath the black jacket and you'll still stand out!

Yeah, I think you're absolutely right. I'd rather wear a color I don't care for as much than look like a man 🙁 (Not that there's anything wrong with a good looking man, but...I don't make a good looking man!) I got my suit, shoes and pink blouse today so I think I'll return the one blouse I didn't like and get a new suit that fits much better. I'll have the nice pink blouse for color, at least.

Yep, definitely go with fit. As I said before, my body proportions are all effed up and I needed separates. The store I was at didn't have grey suits in serparates, so I had to get a black one. It had very muted pinstripes, though, so that set it apart. I also chose a light pink shirt to wear under it to allow myself to stand out a bit. It worked 😉

So I was freaking out yesterday. I thought....hmmm I better check and make sure I will have all my prereqs done by the end of this semester(just in case the vet school decides to choose me off of the alternate list)
AAAAny way I kept counting wrong and I was MISSING like 6hrs of humanities.......so then im sitting and silently stewing about this while waiting for my adviser to get done with his class(he is impossible to get a hold of unless you send out a search party for two days) So while im waiting to talk to him about my prereqs i overhear two girls talking about being accepted into vet school! I had to go to the bathroom and cry because I was so jealous and worried🙁

finally got to talk to my advisor and it turns out that I was freaking out for nothing. But I still feel a little twingy about hearing those girls talking...What are the odds of overhearing a conversation about someone else getting exactly what your hoping for in a large university especially when your worrying most about it? I just wanted to yell at them....SOOOOOOO WHAT!! YOU GOT IN...BIG DEAL😱

I've been running PCR gels since January. I can't even estimate how many I've run... seems like at least 50! Anyway... yesterday... FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, I had a band show up in my negative control lane.

Took my dogs for a walk in the woods behind my house. We have 3 deer that camp out regularly in the area and my dogs think their droppings are the best little frozen treat ever! Although I try to stop them from eating it, there are 4 dogs and I can't watch all of them all of the time. My SDN namesake, Jake, apparently ate too much deer poop, because an hour after getting home he vomited a very large quantity of deer poop on the carpet There's nothing like cleaning up dog vomit, but it's even better when it's the oh-so-lovely combo of dog vomit/deer poop, YUCK!!!

Just a little update on my stupid laptop.

My mouse was working fine a minute ago... then it stopped working, so I unplugged it and plugged it back in, and now the laptop doesn't recognize it and it won't work in my other two ports (I was using it in a different one for the past couple of days, switched to another this morning because it had stopped working and now... that's not working)... and now it's working in another one.

Even though it's under warranty, it's $50 if it's a software problem, free if it's a hardware problem. If it's a hardware problem, they have to send it to their warehouse. I am NOT sending my laptop away. Last time my friend sent hers away, she went ~ 2 months without it, the manager would avoid her whenever she went into the store to ask about it, and they ended up giving her another laptop for some reason.

I can lose it for a couple of days, but not for weeks. I need it for school. Also... I live by myself and don't have cable or a dvd player... so I'd go insane without MSN messenger, my music, my daily reads and my tv shows.

F*** Staples and their stupid policy. People were like "Oh, why didn't you buy it at Future Shop? They're SOOO much better." Uh... I was at home... I needed a new computer ASAP, and the closest Future Shop is an hour away. My parents wouldn't drive me an hour so I could see my best friend. Like heck they'd drive me there for a new laptop. Between Walmart, The Source and Staples, Staples was the better store. So STFU.

Omg... the dreams I had last night... I dreamed I had an interview... then I dreamed I was rejected... then I dreamed I died of cancer.

And I can't install iTunes on my laptop for some reason. I tried 7 or 8 different downloads for Windows 7 32-Bit, and EVERYTIME I installed it, it told me I had the 64-bit version and to download the other one. Wth?

I waaaaannnnnt my old laptop back 🙁 with the iTunes, and the working USB ports...

Yeppers, sounds like mono! I had it my senior year of college after starting winter quarter partying 30 out of the first 31 days. Bad move on my part! Hope you are feeling better soon and that you have an easier time with it than I had! Rest up when you can! However, I will warn you there is one thing that no one ever tells you about mono (and it's the worst part).....yes, you are so dead-tired that all you want to do is sleep, but the really awful part is the evil insomnia. I could barely sleep for more than an hour or two at a time.

iPod is broken. It's less than a month outside of it's warrenty. $99 to get it sent off and fixed.

Something happened with the headphone jack... only plays music in both ears if I wrap the cord around the unit and hold it in place.

Since Boxing day... my laptop died, my new laptop is malfunctioning and my iPod is toast. And no... I haven't been smashing them around!

I'm $45 000 in debt. I cannot afford to have more things break on me!

I ordered myself a reaallly nice, warm sweater for my birthday, since I spent most of my Christmas money on the dumb laptop I didn't want. I'm thinking of returning it now once it arrives 🙁 That darn sweater cost me just as much as the repairs... I was looking forward to having a sweater that didn't shrink when I wash it or fade out like everything else I own 🙁

I wonder what's next? Either my TV or my printer... if my NES goes, I WONT BE HAPPY. Seems like 1980 technology lasts longer than modern stuff.

Have u tried other headphones in it? I've had headphones break that require me to do that when the wiring inside gets messed up. I'd check out that option before sending it in to get fixed.

Agreed. When I've had problems similar to what you mention, it's usually a wiring problem in the headphones. I hope this is the issue for you as well because that is a MUCH easier (and cheaper!) fix...

I bought a new set of headphones and tried them. They acted the exact same way as my old ones (music only plays in right ear unless you wrap the cord around the unit and hold it) which makes me think that it's the unit and not the earbuds.

Which sucks... I threw my perfectly awesome set of earbuds in the garbage thinking they were broken when they probably weren't.

Haha... since I've been doing so much ranting about technology, I'm going to head over to the Rave Here thread and make a post.

Alright.... so my SO and I have gotten in a series of arguments that have annoyed the heck out of me.... All of which have lead to a standstill...

First one: a statement was made, by my SO that, in order to survive in the year 2011, everyone needs electricty. Really? Ask people in third world countries how they do it... or heck... event the Amish. After we argued that for about 15 minutes, I just sat there with this "I can't believe we had this fight" look on my face...

Second one: I made the statement that your body cannot properly digest raw potatoes and that it's classified as a form of pica. Yeah... every time we have any sort of potatoes, my SO makes some snarky remark about how he still doesn't believe that they're completely indigestible. *sigh* The thought seems to be that I have said you CAN'T eat raw potatoes. Yes, you can eat them... people eat rocks, too... and other objects that don't digest well....

The latest and greatest: Lactose intolerance. Common denominator to my upset stomach lately has been milk.... but according to his physician (and some dietician), you can't develop lactose intolerance. Really? I'd be finding me a new doctor if that was their view.... I specifically remember the lecture we discussed in biochem about lactose and have tried to give him journal articles on it.... but that makes me rude and arrogant to try continue arguing this....

There are days that I just wish I could accept someone's absurd or wrong viewpoint.... *sigh*

^^is lactose intolerance really an allergy? Isn't an allergy an immune response to an inappropriate stimulus? Lactose intolerance is just the (totally normal in adult mammals) decline in expression of the enzyme (lactase) used to digest lactose. The reason some people don't develop it is that the mutations that allow for lactose tolerance (i.e. lactase's continued expression past childhood) are prevalent in many (particularly northern European) populations.
