Well... finished up a hard week of exams in Immunology, Histology, and Anatomy. I did pretty well on Immuno and Histology.. and Anatomy has yet to be graded! However, after the exam, my mom called me to tell me that my grandma is in respiratory failure and has anywhere from a few days to 6 months to live... prayers would be much appreciated at this time.... thanks in advance
Take a few days to go see your grandma. I know it’s hard at this point in your curriculum, but go see her while you still can. I’m so sorry.

I know I’m in the minority here, but is there anyone else out there that hates wearing scrubs?? I can’t stand them. I’m so uncomfortable every time I wear them. Honestly idk exactly what it is about them, I’m just not a fan. Good thing I plan on being a large animal practitioner 🙂

Oh goodness I live in scrubs. To me, they’re professional pajamas in terms of comfort. Maybe it’s the type of scrubs you get? Or the cut? I have some brands of scrubs that are so much more comfortable than others.

Have you just not found comfy scrubs? I have 2 pairs that are not soft and comfy and 3 that are and I haaaaate the not comfy ones.

I’ve tried at least 4 brands, including “comfort/ soft” ones... still don’t like them:laugh:

Greys scrubs are love greys scrubs are life
mmmm yes. Plus Cherokee has some pretty great ones too.
:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

I think you’re broken... have you tried turning it off and back on again?

There are some terrible man scrubs out there. I'm pretty happy with the Cherokees I have.

holy expensive

I'm wanting to invest in several scrub sets that will last me through clinics but those are ridiculous. They look comfy though
They are worth it. All scrubs are expensive IMO, so spending a little more for scrubs that fit great and are super comfortable, is absolutely worth it. I have 4 pair, no ragrets. I could probably send anyone that is interested a discount code.

OH! AND not butt crack!!! These are the only scrubs I have that stay up and don't make me look like a plumber or flaunt my underwear to the world.

Also hate grey's anatomy scrubs. So itchy, awkward fit, which makes me self conscious all day...just no.

These were my favorite scrubs - Allure by White Cross Women's V-Neck Stretch Side Solid Scrub Top
My only issue with those is how low the V-neck goes down...doesn't work well for well endowed women. Fixed by wearing a tank or shirt under it.

I liked Cherokee (two piece sets ~$50) until they changed their sizing. Mediums are too tight, larges are like parachute pants on me.

What's the discount amount you have? If I could get a set for maybe $60 I'd probably go for it but that's my max. I also have to invest in shoes which is a whole different battle...

ETA: Also, if anyone knows of scrubs that are good for winter/freezing ORs, let me know. I'm already shivering thinking about being anesthesia for those super long surgeries.

20% So if you ordered the purple scrubs from the sale section (one of my faves) that should get you under $60 I think.

"a little more"... that is like 3-5x what I spend. Walmart scrubs all the way. Cheap, comfortable, fit and last a decent amount of time.

4 pairs of scrubs from that website is over $200-300... nope, not worth it for this field where they will inevitably get ****, piss, anal glands, blood, rips, etc. At least for me, not worth spending that kind of money.

I usually am the same way, Walmart scrubs or trolling AllHeart for sales! Although for me, every Walmart pair I've had has ripped in a few weeks/month or two and they don't fit me well at all. I save them for particularly messy surgeries I know I'm going into or when I won't be dealing with clients.

I have been looking to invest in 1-2 good sets that I'm not pulling up or struggling to breath/bend in. I'm pretty awkward when it comes to sizing, so it's hard. My legs are a good 1-3 sizes smaller than my waist is and it seems impossible to find scrubs that fit well.

Giving the Figs a try since I got a set for the same price point I usually look for, but knowing my luck, they'll run small and fit terribly anyways.

The only khakis I have found I like are from old navy (but tbh part of that could be because they’re actually long enough for my legs....)
I found dress 'pants' that are actually basically khaki yoga pants that really pass for khakis. They're one of the best finds ever, and I found them at Meijer's lol. Gonna need legit khakis for my equine rotations though. I probably still have some from my junior high days but lord knows they won't fit me at my current vet school size :arghh:

I guess it just depends on what people want to spend. I’ve tried walmart scrubs and they don’t work for me, but I take enough care in the cleaning of my good scrubs that I justify the expense. Plus the scrubs I have last forever. Going on 4 years of frequent use and they’re still in amazing condition.
Idk, I find it hard to find khakis for women! I've also had a heck of a time finding women's polos too.
Ugh I can never find khakis for women.

Oh my goddddddddddd
I have dress pant yoga pants. In black and grey. And I may or may not be ditching my actual dress pants tomorrow to wear them because they’re so much comfier and still look nice with my jacket :bag:

Also, speaking of sizes/rants, I have to confess that I had a brief mental breakdown when trying on our white coats to decide what size we want.

I kept trying on different sizes and none fit right. Shoulders too big, entire coat way too long, too small, or a combo of those three. I was seriously stressing and thinking I was just gaining a horrible amount of weight and must have gone up so many sizes (it was at the end of a super long day so no, I didn't realize that I've been wearing the same jeans for years). Or that I was going to have a coat that just didn't fit.

Turns out I was trying on the men's coats...:smack:

I also have dress pant yoga pants in grey green and black! They're amazing. I have quite a few khakis from old navy because cheap but my favs are from eddie bauer. Especiallllllly the flannel lined khakis - a live saver on field service in the winter!

I have honestly never seen cheap scrubs, except for ones that were obviously crap. Maybe I just didn’t look hard enough or I’m too picky. Figs, with discount, have only been about $10 more than what I have spent on uncomfortable scrubs, so it’s been worth it to me.

(I’m also too picky you’re fine)
It’s not their money you’re spending  buy what you like the best!

If you look at enough Goodwill and other thrift store's, you can find like-new scrubs for pretty cheap! Also some super interesting designs

Scrub pants are usually fine (always long but I can deal with it). However, Grey's tops are the only ones I've ever found that I don't drown/feel like a rectangle in. Lucky for me all my grey's scrubs were gifts, so...I didn't spend the money  I did get some wonderwink ones recently that I like, but still not as comfy as my grey's.

Mmmm I love Grey's scrub tops. I always pish poshed people spending money on scrubs until I got a top and actually had a waist and it's so nice and soft. Now I can't go back. Thankfully only wear scrubs for surgery so mine should last a long long time.

I kind of hate fitted scrub tops, I prefer the ones that are just straight and a little stretchy. I think the ones that cinch in at the waist tend to have optimistic feelings about body proportions and mostly leave me feeling like a sausage in a casing. When I do get ones that feel better on me I end up having way too much room around the shoulders.

Other problem with fitted tops is they make my boobs stick out like whoa, which isn't totally the vibe I want to bring with me onto the clinic floor lol

I have a pair of 5.11 Tactical khakis that I LOVE - they're stupid expensive, but they have so many pockets and are WATER RESISTANT (yes, I definitely sprayed myself with the hose at our equine hospital to test it). If you can get them on sale, they're totally worth the money.
