Thanks squibby! You know, you'd think my mom would realize that. But I know she doesn't get it... when I dropped one of our honors programs after the new director turned out to be a TOTAL jerk, I told my parents what I was intending to do before following through. Now, 2 years later, my mom said "You dropped the honors program? What if that keeps you from getting into vet school?"

*sigh*
Quitters don't get interviews at Tufts.
Good luck with the department head, it seems like those "absences" should be excused, IMO.
I totally understand, vetme! But, the most ironic part, my science & philosophy professors (my 2 double majors) are fine with me missing school cause it's for my future aka the rest of my life. I already have people set to take good notes for me & my teachers said I can see them if I have any problems at all. It's just English lit. Oh, and the dept. head never got back to me. Honestly, if I had to take another semester at my undergrad, I might very well transfer

I don't want to go into all of the drama so far, but it's aggravating to say the least (and it's only the first week
😉)
I'm trying to do what's best for me but thank you for the added encouragement!!!
I imagine that trying to interview while classes are in session would be hard....I just hate missing class because then I feel sooo behind.
Hang in there everything will turn out fine I'm sure. Do what you think is best for YOU🙂
Best of luck with your own English class, CT! Well, honestly, no (to those 4 absences). With vet school, it's not like med school like many of my friends pursuing professional school upon graduation. They have multiple schools in 1 state while I'm fortunate to even have one. Most people not familiar with vet school (or willing to listen) think it's a lower form of medical school... Anyways, if I get into Tufts, I'm not going to keep staying stressed about this moot point. If not, I'm heading out to Oregon asap and will be missing possibly another class. And, I know there's always a chance of illness no matter how hard you try. These English profs are treating me like a child...like I'm skipping to go play hooky.
Do you think you can make it through the semester without missing another two classes?
I'm in a quasi-similar boat with an english class. I'm trying to sign up late and find a professor who is willing to be understanding of the fact that I am missing an additional 2 classes for one interview, and could potentially end up missing another 1-2 for another interview right after (don't know yet).
I understand that it's problematic for the professor, and that certain things need to be done in class... but it's not like you can help it. You're not skipping, and you don't really have any choice in the matter. They give you an interview when they give you an interview.
