👍 I agree. Both my dogs with murmurs now. Neither of them is pathologic though. And they are much easier to hear when they are at the hospital when their heart rate is through the roof.

Yeah.....:shakes head: The Pom came home with my sister yesterday. She (my sister) kept telling me how stupid I am that I was worried she was trembling, has mucus in her hair and her heartrate was through the roof. I'm just a sillyhead....😉

In other semi-rant worthy news....I'm a vagabond. A curse and a blessing. Still gotta be at my job in 2 hours although I'm currently living out of a backpack. My choice so, I can only blame myself..... Holidays = exponential familial drama.

But, my fellow vet student cousin is bringing home her puppy. She is also in the doghouse, family speaking. We made plans to spend the majority of our time outdoors with Link :biglove:
 
One of my rabbit fosters from a few years ago was put down today. He was living permanently at the rescue because he had so many health problems. He was having surgery today for a jaw mass and it turned out that it was taking up half his facial bones and the back of his tongue so they euthanized him on the surgery table.

That poor rabbit, I took him as a foster through the SPCA and he'd already been through a couple of homes. I had been picking up a different rabbit to foster and they were like "you're not taking them both?" so I took him sight unseen pretty much. He was obviously sick so he ended up living in my bathroom for fear that he would be contagious to my other foster and my own rabbit. I named him B. B. for Bathroom Bunny, because I was determined not to give him a name in fear that he would die and I would be too attached. He was a complete mess (URI, parasites, hair loss, huge hair mats, a salivary gland cyst that later needed surgery, underweight, and covered in urine...) and I ended up contacting the rescue (who had never heard of me before) because he wasn't getting adequate vet care through the SPCA.
Thousands of dollars later he was healthy and adopted, but the person moved out of the country a year later and he went back to the rescue. They tried adoptions again but he would get so sick from stress at each move that they ended up keeping him as a permanent resident. He was well loved by the rescue and spoiled rotten. I saw him a few days ago when I went to pick up my current foster and got to hold him and play with him.

So sorry, Bunnity. But glad that you were able to him be happy, and that you got to see him this week.

Oh great, my professor didn't get the extension paperwork in on time to stop my incomplete from turning into an F. This... after he completely forgot to get the paperwork in the first time and I had to remind him to grade change it.

I don't have to send these transcripts to vet school or anything. Eeuurgh.

Grades are a completely bull**** way to evaluate knowledge of literally anything and from this point on, I am absolutely going to refuse to submit myself to pandering or memorizing pointless trivia in the pursuit of them.

Can I haz burrito? Seriously....I'm hungry. On the subject of pointless degrees, my piece of paper is in its expensive frame that my mother insisted I purchase. On my floor. Collecting dust. When I went to job interviews, they laughed at me. "You're a college grad? And you have a degree in....biology and philosophy. Hm....when we have an opening for a village idiot, we'll contact you.":laugh: [If only this was far from the truth.....sigh....]

Lesson learned: I'm going to professional school to get my soul sucked out the way that I WANT. If I survive this insane customer service job til I go........[YES I WANT TO PUNCH YOU THROUGH THE PHONE, YA JERKS]

But, on a humorous note, I received an email from a former job...thing person who didn't want me to work for their lab because I was "considering going back to school one day." They have a "possible" job opening. I got to say "no." And I liked it😀

My bf is, well, a liiittle older than me. Everyone around my age didn't want anything to do with him because he was "creepy." People over 20 talked to him, but didn't really wanna be friends with him because he was Mexican.

But now that he's my bf, they're getting interested. After my 'friend's' bf broke up with her, she started texting him about hooking up with him. Other girls from my old barn all of a sudden seem much more interested in him and love to talk to him at horse shows. One of the horse show judges apparently kept passing him notes with her phone number. She even came over to tell him they'd be staying at the same hotel and that she'd love for him to visit her for a few drinks.

Lucky for that judge that I wasn't there that weekend. It is extremely annoying. No one liked him very much before, but now that he has a gf, everyone thinks that there must be something awesome about him and they want it too. SO INCREDIBLY ANNOYING.

Hahaha! My husband used to teach HS Chem, and he would come home terrified by some of the things his female students would say to him! Soooooo wrong.

My BF is a TA for a 4th year engineering course, so lucky for me most of his students are male. However, there is one girl who has said some inappropriate things and she is quite flirty. Probably an attempt to boost her grade but all the flirting in the world is not going to help her since she got caught cheating on the final 🙄

Bahaha! Luckily he hasn't had to hear anything too terrifying, but he did get a "You're sexy" with hearts on a course review, once. I feel like it was probably a joke... maybe?

I absolutely hate it when seemingly great adoptions end up falling apart.
 
Lifting 79 pound dog by yourself is not a bright idea as my left shoulder has been telling me for the past 4 weeks, I have torn a muscle in my upper shoulder; it should heal up just fine but it hurts. However getting that interview yesterday has kind of made some of the pain go away...😉.

Note to self: No more lifting heavy dogs by yourself.

there is this intern at the hospital where i work at...he's completing his 1 year SA internship before doing a residency, just graduated last year, but is a bit older than me...

i have the BIGGEST crush on him. i mean, i'm surprised other people haven't picked up on it.

this is the stupidest rant EVER but seriously i want him to notice me! i know this rant is silly but i'm almost beyond just a "crush" now...it's silly. i just never have much luck in the boys department and everyone here was talking about their SOs so now i'm just going to go ahead and sound like a whiny little girl.

And I totally know what you mean about the feeling getting overwhelming. It takes over your whole brain!:scared:

I say, esp since you just got admitted, strike up conversation with him and pick his brain about vet school. I'm sure you'll pick up on if the feeling is mutual. Where is he going for his residency??

i've been thinking of striking up a convo about vet school! he's just a super nice guy and ALL the girls in the hospital have a major crush on him, especially since our hospital is in desperate need of some testosterone (we only have ONE male tech out of everyone).

he's applied to a bunch of places for his residency for radiology -- penn, tufts, michigan, ncsu, vmrcvm, etc. he doesn't know yet where he's going to end up though.

Don't ask me. I obviously don't have a problem with them. I'm with one after all. He's my 2nd Mexican boyfriend. It's so much more fun with them. Dancing is great. Not the grinding that most other people my age do. And partying is great, too. I'm just having much more fun with them than with Americans. No offense, guys.

I usually don't have a problem with shots, but on Thursday I'm getting the implanon in my arm. I am a little nervous about that one...
 
I'm sorry. I hope it'll be better soon.

Mine apparently is like a minor surgery. Not sure if that's true, but that's what I heard.. :/
 
Implanon is something to use instead of a baby pill. It's a little thing that they put in your arm and it prevents a pregnancy for 3 years.
 
Can i just whine and rant like a crazy person really quickly?

The first time I took the GREs i got a 1040. It was terrible!I studied my bum off and raised it to a 1250; much better...I took it the first time in July and the second time Sep15th....which meant that 4 out of the 8 schools I applied to did not get the "good scores"I have already been rejected by 2.

I just dont understand why its MY problem that ETS couldnt get the scores out fast enough. Looking back I realize I should have taken them sooner the first go aroudn to give myself more timeto re-take it should I needto....

I contacted admissions and told them that I did much better the second time around and could I pretty please send them my scoresto which all of them said no! So now, I will more than likely (unless God intervenes to get me in somewhere) have to re-apply and be another year older. And suddenly, age is beginning to matter to me! I want to be married and have kids one day, and I feel like the longer it takes for me to get my career up and running the less of a possibility all the rest becomes *pout*

I'm just so tired of working at a lab job that I DESPISE in a place I absolutely loathe. However, the job allows me to take classes for FREE... and I get benefits! It's not a hard job its just...empty..

I just feel so stuck and I just want to go to freaking school and get on with my dream career. I have never sounded like such a whiner in my life, but its just not freaking fair! I'm sorry that I was a B-ish student. Its not like I slacked off, had a bad semester etc, I was serious about my grades from semester one.....I consistently got around a 3.4 3.5 ever semester....thats just what I am! i am a B student and it PISSES me off that it holds me back. I dont think there is anything wrong with graduating with a 3.4 in bio. damn it. I'm just feeling so freaking discouraged. I dont know how those of you ahve applied for more than 2 cycles survive this...

Yesyesyes, very cute and all, but for the love of all things holy, do not let your decision on which school you attend be swayed by this guy. Lol. Crushes are very transient even when they don't feel that way. I'm not saying you couldn't hit it off with this guy, sure! But when you meet someone you click with, you usually know (and can form words with many syllables around him, can carry a conversation without listing your train of thought in his eyes, etc.). Otherwise, it's just a crush and it will fade like they always do.

I dunno if you would actually let his placement affect your school choice. I was just trying to make sure it wouldn't. Pick the school that works best for you, period. 🙂

Mine can't dance and doesn't speak Spanish, so maybe I got gypped a bit, but he's still pretty great. 🙂

What, because it's in reference to gypsies? Please, so many of our words have roots that aren't really politically correct. They're pretty far removed from the original term by now.
 
Geez, it makes sense that it's a racist term....but I never connected the dots. At least we know now then! 😛
 
This is coming from someone who did not know "******ed" was a bad word until biochem class when the professor went on a long rant about it.

Then I accidentally used it on livejournal and people got mad at me until I apologized.

So I am avoiding that word. Just in case it causes butthurt on livejournal again.

The R-word is out of my vocabulary (unless I am drunk) and the G-word is out for the time being too. Just cuz I know that if I say it around the wrong person, I will get a lecture.

On the topic of boys...sigh. I really should swear them off. (If I don't intimidate them or they aren't total goofballs, they think I'm a foreign entity cause I like video games...or there's no attraction factor🙁)

I'm going to vet school (that scares most of them off😉) but I must share this bummer tale: met a guy...we've been "friends" for like 2 years but he's such a sweetheart...and we hit it off (we play mind games constantly in conversation :laugh:). but he wants to 'have time for his music to make it with his band and be uninvolved with a girl" (kind of a lame excuse but...I get where you're coming from..) He plays off that he's an idiot but he's a physics major.....give me a break😛

Move on. I know that's coming. But how do you shut off the switch in your brain when you "hung out as not-friends" to "friends" again?? 😳

But at least I'm through with you. You may have left me broken and diseased, but at least I survived you and can watch you wobble your lonely way to the next victim.

...And Anatomy, don't look so sad ... you'll always be my first vet school sweetheart. I'll miss your cold metal tables and the smell of dead pony hours later standing in line at Starbucks. I'll miss moldy carcasses and slick freezer floors. I'll always remember you!

Sigh. One. More. Final. To go! (Radiology; at least studying for radiology is fun and feels like you're learning something.)

Sorry, all. I think my mind cracked somewhere in the last 72 hours of studying.

That depends. We all need to vent, and we've all been there. OTOH, if this is how you *always* feel then yes, you're being a big baby. If not, then I call it just normal, healthy venting. 🙂

But ... woah - free classes? That's a huge plus. Hang on to that.

I KNOOOOWWW @ free classes...huge bonus for being a state employee at a university. Free tuition..I just need to pay all the fees and taxes and misc garbage...and then there are books...and working the classes around my work schedule..which sadly SO many awesome classes are right smack dab in the middle of the work day *le sigh*
