I give up. I'm in so much pain I can't focus. Going to bed. Just so scared I'll fail the test tomorrow. :scared:

Get a good night's sleep and eat a healthy breakfast. You will do fine, just breathe and tell yourself you know this. It is never good to take an exam exhausted, you want your brain to be well rested. 👍👍:luck::luck::luck:👍👍

My knee was getting better and I skated a month later. Stepped wrong off my porch a week after skating and oliberated my right knee. Ugh 😡. Full ACL tear and a meniscal tear (likely there since February that worsened) - both need surgical repair. Off ice until January at the earliest. 🙁

Mine's my right one too. It's slowly felt better rather than worse since Sunday so hopefully it was just a minor thing. I don't know why it was this bad though seriously it's been a year and a half, one would think I would be okay by now...

Good luck with surgery, both of you (if you decide/need to go that way soops). Hopefully afterwards you'll be good as new and won't have to worry about it as much! :xf:
 
I'm sorry LMMS! But you just can't let Ochem win! I just don't think you can let this silly class get in your way when you are soooo close! I agree with the others about the wine and day to think things over. I believe in you!

Sorry about everyone's aches and pains. I have a bad back too and the advice I have for you PetPony is- muscle relaxants= magic🙂.
 
Two nights in a row now I've been woken up around 2 am by my dog crawling frantically all over me, panting, shaking, etc. She then jumps off the bed, paces around the room, and jumps back on the bed repeatedly until she finally decides like an hour later the world isn't coming to an end and going back to sleep. Considering it's finals week, the amount of sleep I'm getting is already in the tank so this is an awesome development.

The first night I strapped the ThunderShirt on her when I woke up (there was a storm a few miles away I could hear) but she was so keyed up she barely noticed. Last night I put it on pre-emptively before bed but she still went crazy even though there was nothing going on outside. If it happens one more time she'll be going in for some bloodwork to make sure there's nothing medical and then to the behavior service. I need a tranquilizer or strong anxiolytic for her so I can get some sleep! And the thing is, she's the least anxious dog I have ever met - you can do anything to her, other dogs/kids/cats aren't stressful, she sleeps constantly, and does great in any situation. I have no idea what's setting her off but it's driving me nuuuuuts (and making me even more sleepy).

I used to have very strong ones, but ran out of them. I haven't been to the doctor in a while. They even gave me sleeping pills one time.

I just really liked my average in chem and I only heard bad stories about this test. As in, there's stuff we've never seen anywhere before. And mistakes. We'll see. I'm taking it in an hour.
 
My big white deaf cat is sick, again. On top of EVERYTHING else going on. I slept most of the wee hours of the morning on the couch with him.

Did hey give you augmentin? I had that for a cat bite and had to call in sick from work from the nausea, not the bite lol

Yeah mine too. And that's a strong one! I got bit by a 25 year old cat who was coming in for lethargy, fever, and foaming of the mouth, with a healing bite wound on its neck, hadn't had a rabies vacc in 7 years... My first day ever as a vet tech lol. Needless to say it was quarantined and died in 4 days. It became insanely aggressive and showed every sign of rabies possible. The vets I worked thought it 100% had rabies lol. Tested negative ???? Scariest ten days of my life lol

Try eating lots of bread and yogurt before you take it. And don't take it with anything citrus.

I bet those were some scary days. This cat was a regular that comes in for nail trims. She has always been vocal hissing and growling. She is also super fat and hard to scruff. She is usually ok through most of the nail trim then tries to swat at you when you put her back in the kennel, but for some reason she flipped out early, spun around attached her claws into my forearm and her teeth into the side of my hand.

I passed, but meh. I'm pretty sure there were two questions that I got right, but they were marked wrong. If I got that credit, I would have gotten a B and would still have the chance of getting an A in the class. I'm really mad and gonna go talk to them next week.
 
Today is my day off so I was planning on sleeping in. My kitten decided that wasn't a good idea and jumped on me and started screaming at 5:30 this morning. And again at hour hour intervals until I got up at 6:45. She's lucky she's cute.
 
This is really not my week. Red squirrel just attacked the crap out of both my hands. Freaking thing got loose when I was trying to clean his cage and instead of running away he kept climbing up my pants onto my hands and biting and scratching them. Couldn't get to a pair of gloves because every time I threw him off he just came back. Thank god I had long sleeves so I could cover my hands, but he still tore me apart.

At least my 2 week old kitten hasn't had any seizures since yesterday afternoon (knock on wood). Still pretty sure she has brain swelling and is going to die though. Arg.
 
My grandpa is getting worse and they're worried about his lung collapsing. He's in a ton of pain and I'm stuck in Missouri and I feel so helpless.

Can't wait to sit through a whole day of classes worrying.

Red squirrels are NOT cute!! They have taken over all of the walls inside my house!!! 😡
Also... can I borrow your red squirrel so I can get these darn rabies vaccines easier?! 😀😉

and now for story time with Deb:
A friend's dog who did things like this (but worse, she was like crawling walls but only at night....) and after several months of trying to figure out what it was, they decided to do a neuro consult and found out the dog had a hepatic shunt and they took her to surgery and she's all normal now! I'm sure it isn't what your dog has but I always think of it whenever people have animals doing strange ass things in the middle of the night...

Aren't I just a chipper ray of sunshine today? :laugh: lol. Hopefully pup is doing better soon, Nittany!

Yeah I am definitely going to be getting some bloodwork done to see if it's anything medical. And she really doesn't act weird during the day at all so who knows what's up or what she thinks she hears at night. Anyone who knows her would be shocked to know I'm considering calling up the behavior service because she is such an easy-going lump at any other time!

LOL they may be a nuisance but they are more aestheticly pleasing than our ground squirrels here in Nevada LOL.

This makes me cry. She's going in for training and I don't doubt she'll do fantastic things in the future, but I'm still gonna miss her a lot. I'm friends with the handler and took Piper regularly with me.

They also piss me off when I'm in my tree stand and they mess with me the whole time and scare deer away. I never dealt with them until I moved to NY. Can't honestly say I had ever even seen one before. We have tons of black squirrels here too 😀

At least he is in good hands. Sorry you have that helpless feeling. I think that's the worst part sometimes 🙁 Hope he gets better quickly!

So we've had many a conversation about this at the wildlife clinic, so here are my two best ideas:
1. Say there was a bat flying around your bedroom when you woke up, you started freaking out, and your boyfriend let it out the window. This way is great because you don't have to actually have any sort of bite wounds, but they still have to give you vaccines.
2. If you get bitten/scratched by a cat, say that you had some sort of interaction with a feral cat outside and it ran away. You were trapping one, it ran out from under a bush and scratched you, you were trying to pick it up, whatever.
If I needed my vaccine's I'd go with the bat one personally.
Also, I think it's only 5 shots instead of three if it's post exposure instead of pre. I say worth it!

Thanks boo. Middle of nowhere Arizona. 3 hour drive from Phoenix airport. 🙁 To go to the ER, they had to drive an hour...

The problem is that he isn't in good hands. He's with my least capable relative, and the closest one to him seems to have no interest in going there. Thankfully, my dad is ready to get out there, and my cousin might go too. It's just infuriating how far away he is from medical attention and how he's basically the only sensible one out there.

We talked to him today and he's doing alright, but with someone who is almost 90 years old... This could be what ultimately kills him if it gets any more complicated. Keep fingers crossed that the bones heal and he doesn't get pneumonia in the lung. We're really thankful he didn't break his hip and he didn't totally collapse the lung.

It's just so hard to focus on school right now, and now is when I really need to. :/

I'm sorry to hear this breenie. I am out here in AZ so if you need anything let me know! I don't know where he is at out here especially with being 3 hours away from the airport, makes me think way far north or south. I will be keeping my thoughts with you and your family!
 
I know you guys are interested in hearing the continuing saga. We'll call the doc I have problems with Dr. B.

So in the midst of finding a new job, work has been going on as usual. Dr. B removed a mass on one of her patients. She didn't send the dog home with a cone (e-collar) and the dog could get to this place on his back. The owner came in 5 days later because the dog had chewed out his sutures. I asked if the other dr would take it since I didn't want to get in the middle again. She agreed and looked at the area. All the sutures were removed and it was draining. So she clips and cleans the area. And as she's cleaning, the fluid that she is flushing into the wound keeps collected on the ventral abdomen. That's right - there is a 6-8 inch pocket under the skin. She ended up putting a drain in and talking to Dr. B about it today since the client is pissed. First words out of Dr. B's mouth? "Was all that really necessary?"

So yeah, still waiting on word from the other place. My brother is doing a lot better - getting the help he needs.

UGH.
I can't take a good work ID picture to save my life. Co-workers probably think I'm insane because I keep asking to re-take it. No **** guys, I need a non-expired ID and the picture I have on my currently expired one looks like crap. I was 50 pounds heavier, some people don't recognize me. These are valid reasons for you to spend $4 to make me a new card. And now you railroad me in to take the picture the morning after I worked till midnight, have been slammed all day and don't have any makeup on at all. (I don't wear it unless I need to.) I look like a washed out, dried up zombie with a bad ponytail 😡

So yeah, I'm not happy. I had hoped to come in for an appointment to make the ID and at least get a chance to tame my hair, but NOO. I think I might look worse than the 50 pound heavier one in a batman tee shirt.

And now I sound really vain. Like all I care about is looks. Can't win I guess.
 
My computer suuuuuuuuuuuuuucks! I really regret getting a cheap computer before school started. It gets hot, freezes, and does weird things with certain keyboard key presses (though a little coffee spill probably is to blame there).

Would it be completely irresponsible to justify paying for a better computer on my credit card because I scored some scholarships over the winter and spring? I figure I could save money on a refurbished macbook pro or thinkpad and still spend less than a grand while getting a much sturdier laptop with a more powerful processor than the "ultra low voltage" (like it helps because I only get 30 minutes of battery life) one on my current one.
 
I have the macbook pro and absolutely love it. 😍
 
Seizures in a 6 wk old kitten from severe hypoglycemia has to be the saddest thing I think I've ever seen. 🙁 So low, it wouldn't register on the glucometer and so hypothermic an initial temp wouldn't even register.

We got her through this hump, but whether she survives her aspiration pneumonia remains to be seen.
 
I'm so sorry K9Dane. 🙁 I hope your kitten gets through this and lives to a ripe old age. :hugs:
 
Thanks, I hope so too. This lady was a new foster mom for a local humane society and I'm not sure how much experience she's had with tiny kittens.

She's a little black kitty too and I have this affinity for black kitties. (I have 3 personally) She was actually fighting me a little bit with tube feeding before I left which is much better than the obtunded state she arrived in. I don't know how long her glucose was that low, so I worry about her brain too. The humane society wants full treatment for now so we'll see. I won't be back at the clinic until Tuesday though. Fingers crossed...
