I would just like to say that assembly instructions that require you to have the foresight of a fortune teller are completely useless and annoying. I just spent far too long putting my bird's new cage together because the directions were vague and the diagrams were microscopic and incomplete. I had to take it apart and start over again a bunch of times because I would get to a certain point and then realize something that should have been covered one or two steps previous wasn't. Grrrr!

Come home to a turd in my bed, my blanket on the floor and peed on, and a sink full if dishes that I asked be done yesterday.

WTF is going on.

Lupin I did the same exact thing except my finger got sliced whil lifting a garbage bag up. SO MUCH BLOOD.

we just had the most beautiful and inspiring white coat ceremony for our incoming class. our speakers were phenomenal and there was so much love and pride highlighted for SGU. A good reminder of all the amazing opportunities we have here.

then i come home to a message about our clinic eliminating doctors overnight and needing a term 1-5 student to be in the hospital EVERY night of the week all semester long from 8p-8a. this makes me furious! we are a for profit university! we just finished a rigorous accreditation process! why are we not hiring doctors and technicians to do this!! apparently our clinicians are exhausted and sick of long hours and so many shifts, but i don't understand why we are then not doing everything in our powers to hire more people to relieve this. instead, we are significantly devaluing our program and putting our beloved pets at risk. we already have students covering a large amount of work at the clinic. the emergency club deals with weekend and holiday shifts, the 5th term is in the clinic 2 mornings a week and the 6th term has afternoon and evening rotations there. they are asking us to give up more of our precious and valuable time to cover things that should not be our problem. so angry and frustrated!!!

Is it a paid position? Or required for students?

neither, basically at this point theyre saying either we provide one student a night from 8p-8a at the clinic or they will eliminate all emergency services period. and thats a scary thought - this is the only hospital on the island

Wow. Totally not cool that they're putting the pressure on the students with an ultimatum like that..

 Rebellion in the Fox household! Still though, I feel for ya.

They are all lucky I love them. I still have no idea who the poopitrator is. This is the second time it has happened in about a week. They are lab sized(or else I would deff suspect my aussie....little s###)....but I just dont get it. Its usually a formed, single turd. 😕 I have no idea, maybe she is sleep pooping?

Anymore I don't like talking about school to my mom. She has all these weird opinions about my education that are in conflict with what I want and what plans I choose to make. It's a guaranteed argument every time. 🙁

I feel ya! My dad has repeatedly said, "why don't you go to Nursing School instead? What if you never get in?" Wow thanks for the support! He doesn't seem to get that it's not just about making money, it's about what I am passionate for. Oh well.

Yikes dyachei 🙁 I guess on the bright side, it isn't the black one in the background? How're you feeling today?

the muscle soreness is almost gone but the deeper bruises, joint injuries, and the concussion still feel like crap. I tried to read something earlier and got motion sickness type nausea. I'm feeling pretty lucky to be here though.

saw my car today. Makes a lot sense given where my injuries are. Still waiting to hear if it will be totaled or not.

for a short time View attachment 24853

Ahh that's so scary! My car was hit in the exact same place (except my back door was also hit a little more and the damage was a little higher). Unfortunately it was totaled because of the cars age and the fact that doors are apparently very expensive especially as a car gets older. (Everything turned out okay though since my insurance covered the full cost of the car and then I put in an extra $1000 and got a newer, nicer one I'm even happier with so even though the whole thing sucked I actually did get something nice out of it). I hope everything is okay and your insurance helps out as much as mine!

so officially on disability now. through at least weds.

I hope you feel better by then. The upside is that it looks like your door and front panel absorbed the impact. Frame looks like it was untouched. Hopefully they don't total it.

My mom is less critical about vet school than she is about my current graduate program. She constantly implies that I'm wasting my time, which is utterly insulting considering an MPH is a very practical degree.

I think that she not-so-secretly just wants to boast that her daughter is going to be a doctor and, apparently, graduate school doesn't give her that opportunity. She's overly concerned about outward appearances and what people think. It's very annoying but also amusing because I get to profusely mock her.

"Oh no! What will the neighbors think! My daughter, a common graduate student. We expected so much more from you."

Fiancé left last night. 🙁 First morning waking up without him in three months. It wouldn't be so damn hard if he weren't so damn awesome and supportive. Stupid vet school.

The axle can be replaced pretty easily - I would be more worried that the transmission case would be cracked.

But it depends on mileage, interior, make, model, year, what insurance, and even the body shop. Husband days he has fixed worse, but it's hard to say.

👍 replaced my cv axle on the scion, part was about $100, took SO and I about an hour to do.

I'm not saying that I hate my new job....

but I desperately miss shelter medicine, and the coworkers I had there.

more worried about costs adding up. :xf: that it's fixable within their budget constraints (insurances)

Ugh 👎 Hope everything (car and self) gets sorted out soon.

New girl at the office. She seemed really nice. Stopped by to chat with me a bit. Then she told me a story about how she ran over a cat with her car. She kept driving. She thought it was kinda funny.

I ask why she didn't stop, it was a cat! She just shrugs and said yeah, it was just a cat. 😱 As she's probably detecting a bit of fury, she says she should head back and makes an exit.

I'm pretty proud of myself that I didn't yell at her to GTFO. 😡

*shudders* This reminds me of an ex-coworker at a restaurant who told me about the time a friend's cat scared her when she woke up and she accidentally killed it. She said she felt bad, but she was telling it as a, "Haha, what a crazy and funny story." I told her in no uncertain terms that the fact she would ever laugh about it disgusts and horrifies me. I also said that I don't know why she would tell that story to someone dedicating their life to helping animals. She kept trying to tell the story, though, maybe thinking she could redeem herself, so I had to just keep repeating that she needs to just stop right now.

People are so messed up sometimes. Accidents happen, but how could that EVER be funny? :uhno:

Kudos for keeping your cool. It's so hard to respond to that.

Apparently new people moved in and they enjoy making whoopie crazy enough to shake walls and produce blood curdling, axe murderer screams. Give me a freakin break!
:annoyed:

Making a Plan B for my life is sooooo haaaarrrrrrddddddd... Too many choices and I'm being too indecisive right now to work on it. Bah humbug...
/whine

Well, maybe if you'd stop focusing on trash talking other people and actually restrain my pet, it wouldn't freak out so much. 😡

And then the Dr comes over and tries to tell me how to restrain a big dog. Uhm, I know how to restrain a big dog, thankyou. I wasn't even the one restraining at the time.
I'm ready to be done today.

Done.

I have 2 cats in the hospital 🙁

Libby, my 7 year old, is at the VTH for a sarcoma mass removal. The mass is on her face by her submandibular lymph node, which they are also removing. The radiologist found a small spot on her right cranial lung lobe but she said it doesn't look typical of metastasis. It is of course too small to sample. We're sending the lymph node to histopath and if it comes back positive for tumor cells were assuming the cancer has spread. Regardless she'll have another CT scan in 6-8 weeks to check for growth. Did I mention Libby also has chronic kidney disease?

Genie, my 12 year old, is at the local vet's on IV fluids and antibiotics for what they vet called "a wicked bladder infection that has invaded the kidneys". She was amazed at the number of rods she found in the urine. I'm glad my cats are impressive, I just wish it was in something healthy.

I may have a breakdown before the start of classes on Monday 🙁

sorry your kitties are going through this.

I'm in my friend's wedding in March...
WAS in my friend's wedding in March. Her fiance told me today that they aren't together anymore. I called her and she told me she "wants to party more" and "isn't ready to settle down" :lame:
They were together 5 years and all she ever talked about was wanting to marry him. :eyebrow:
So confused. 😕

Yikes! Quarter life crisis and maybe it'll revert after the partying phase is done??

------

I'm single not because of partying, but because I'm a picky bitch. I may have finally found someone worth dating, we'll see. I tend to run pretty quick with most people.

I'm hoping so. He's a really awesome guy. :xf:

Dropped my boyfriend off at the airport this morning. Won't see him again until Christmas. 🙁

I feel your pain. It blows. The time will go by quick enough with school though. Hang in there.
