Wide awake at 3am. Life hasn't been that great in deb-world (all outside of school stuff) and my brain has decided that not allowing me to sleep so I can stress about it all is the best way to cope. :/ great.
Foxy, not giving you advice at all. You would know better than me, anyways.![]()
My pup had the exact same thing. It never got worse, so I just watched it. Healed fine after another week. (VERY hard to keep her inactive. She was never lethargic or quiet, even Day1. Always go, go go. And she's a jumper. It was hard to keep her still)
The vet has seen the photos. Says as long as there's no pus it's fine. Bring her in for abx if pus appears.
I haven't been in a GP situation in 5+ years and haven't had a dog spayed in at least 10, so I have no idea what normal healing looks like

Whine: For our surgery lab, we have to submit videos of us doing some suture patterns. This would be fine, except for the damn suture pads they give us. They're these annoying gel things (this thing in case anyone's wondering: http://www.rescuecritters.com/produ...nary-training/84-suture-patch-ii-transparent; I question the "greater realism" 🙄). The gel is incredibly stiff, so it's not as pliable as skin so holding open an incision to do something like an intradermal is hell. But it's still just gel, so if you don't take a big enough bite of tissue (far bigger than you would for a skin suture), you'll just pull the suture right through the gel. This is going on my course eval.
Sorry deb. I hope you can get some of the stuff dealt with. There's nothing worse than being exhausted
I'm living that dream too....
Yup. I'm not the only one with a screwed up existent at the moment! The biggest thing is that I need to have a really tough conversation with someone that should have happened 4-5 years ago and I've let the problem grow so large that it is possible that there will be some pretty crappy consequences if it doesn't go well. I'm terrible at confrontation so instead I just let it eat my insides away instead. 🙄 Thanks for letting me vent. 😛
My rant is that the two of you have just delicious profile pictures, and it distracts me from what you're saying. And the entire thread...

So my roommate really dislikes cats. I have two. One he actually gets along with, but the other doesn't like him much so roommate doesn't like the cat. They haven't really had any issues, my cat just doesn't like being around him. A few weeks ago said cat went and peed on my roommate's dirty clothes that were on his bathroom floor. There haven't been any problems since then and roommate and cat were actually getting along better. Then out of the blue cat went and peed in roommate's almost empty laundry basket that was on the floor next to the washer/dryer yesterday. All it had in it was a wool hat. He has never peed on anything other than roommate's things, no other urinary symptoms, and the two incidents have been really far apart. If it was more frequent or happens again I'll bring him to the vets to make sure it's not a medical problem, but it seems like it's just him spite peeing on the things that really smell like my roommate.
I think if my roommate tried to make friends with the cat it would probably solve the problem, but he thinks cats are just like tiny dogs that you have to be dominant over. Pretty sure he thinks if he gave in and started petting the cat it would mean he "lost" and he's totally unwilling to do that. There may be a trip to the behaviorist in our future... It just really sucks because my roommate and I get along perfectly, but I think my cat is going to mess that up.
WS- As someone who has lived with cats that are not my own that were not the best behaved (and not really a big cat person to start with) I'd be really irritated if my roommate told me to essentially deal with it. I'm not sure why they'd agree to live together if he doesn't like cats that much, but as the cat is wildcats, it's her responsibility to try to fix the problem on her end first (which it sounds like she's doing).

I wrote that wrong! I meant deal with petting the cat, if it will make it stop peeing on his stuff! (that's what I get for doing 5 things at once)Well excellent news! I came home from studying and roommate had made up with kitty. Cat was pouting in my room all day and roommate felt bad so he went in, coaxed him out with a treat and gave him some pets. He has agreed that it would probably just be easier to start over and get on the cat's good side.
I was just frustrated because my roommate seems to get along with the other cat so well but hasn't given this one a chance. When we moved here he got a little more skiddish so he has taken a while to warm up. Then he's been trying the last few weeks and not getting a good response. Like the cat will try to sit on the couch next to roommate and roommate shoos him away. But hopefully a little attention from the roommate will prevent any future pee incidents. Roommate can be really stubborn and doesn't like to admit he's wrong, so I'm really happy he did this. Relieves a lot of stress for me.
Simon (my beloved 11.5 year old tuxedo) has an oncology appointment this morning. A mass diagnosed as a lipoma two years ago has suddenly tripled in size and changed in character.
I tossed and turned all night with dreams of an awful cancer diagnosis. And this is my busiest and most stressful week of work so far.
I feel like I'm about to explode. Or implode, more likely.
Oh! Hello sore throat. Thanks for showing up two days before a test.

i get so irritated when people ask questions in the last minute of class (literally) or even when the 50 minutes of class are over. ask them personally! i dont want to get stuck listening to you when my class time is over.
even better, love that our class rep had the audacity to call people who left when class was over rude because other students had questions. no. class was already over and the students who were raising their hands to ask questions instead of just asking the professor right after class privately (which we do all the time) were being rude and disrespectful. 😡
Let's talk about all the ways we can possibly fail out of the program a week before our first midterm which is the first test we will have had all semester. Fabulous.
Is that what I missed this morning? I saw on the schedule that there was no class and we were expected to go to something else instead. My sleep needs trumped.
I am OCD about my car windows/ moon roof being closed.Huge storm this early morning/very late last night.
The one time I accidentally left my car windows open.
Wet and cold studying slides in lab.
Dropped my CVM ID and key card somewhere this morning on my way to school. Hoping it's in my car otherwise it probably got washed away in the parking lot.
Death by microanatomy exam tomorrow morning.
Oh my god.
3 slides in 30 minutes...seriously? This prof is killing me. I'd skip but we have lab after. So ridiculous and frustrating.
