RANT HERE thread

So glad you found him. So scary. One time I was home visiting my parents and one of my girls escaped because someone left the door open. I was totally hysterical, searching everywhere. Finally turned a corner and she was just laying on the sidewalk, chilling. Cats.
Haha yeah. He gets car sick in a carrier and he usually does so well when I keep him in my lap in a blanket. But as we were getting out of the car and walking to the front door I wasn’t holding him tight enough and he bolted. I looked all over the apartment complex and across the street all while bawling my eyes out but he ended up being only about 30 feet away very well hidden behind some bushes. I definitely won’t be making that mistake again.

You’re suppose to find a rotation to do here so you can hang out with Sparks 😛 now you have kittens to play with too!
My school is stupid and only gives me 6 weeks for off-site rotations!!! :rage: :rage:

(But for real I'm looking into it)

Update on my crushed laptop final exam situation for anyone who was curious- professor reopened the exam and is letting me complete it. I think I'm going to go cry some happy tears for awhile now.

We have moved the kitties to the rave here thread because @DVMDream is a spoilsport and didn’t want them in the rant thread. (Though I think the pets thread would’ve been a more appropriate place @britzen )
But OMG SO CUTE

They don’t know that 😛

I tell them that. Anytime they go "you're just doing this for money". I go, regardless of what you do or don't do today, I make the same amount of money. I'm suggesting this because it is best for your pet. It doesn't change my income if you do this and it doesn't change my income if you don't."

I've had much success with that.

First ever jury summons for back in my hometown. Of course it's a nice where I'm scheduled as the inpatient dr. If I can't get out of it, looks like I'm going to have to find someone to swap overnights with me which is going to suck.

We have been SLAMMED with emergencies lately. And like, true emergencies with good clients. I have no idea why every one decided this was the week to start having seizures/puking uncontrollably/getting attacked by a dog/showing signs of kidney damage (again)/getting stung by a jellyfish....

Full moon

I can relate. I work at a small animal clinic and generally we only have 0-1 medical boarders at a time...all week this week we have had 5-6 medical boarders with new ones coming in each day. Strange. And all real emergencies as well like heat stroke, blocked cats (although we see this commonly at my practice), parvo cats, foreign body emergency surgeries, puppy that ate marijuana and was also having seizures, etc

because it is decent weather, let's go out and play!! bugs are everywhere, so are snakes...go play in the water and there are sometimes not so nice things there, like jellyfish...or sometimes you have a fairly intelligent dog that cannot make the connection between the flying thing and getting stung. sigh. she thinks wasps are play toys and good to chew on.

This is more a sad comment than a rant but don’t know where else to put it. Please don’t repost, May delete later. Just need to get it all out.

This past week has been really crappy. We had to unexpectantly put our family dog of 18 years to sleep last week and I wasn’t able to go home to be with him in his final moments. It’s been really hard on my whole family. Then my new place I just moved into was infested with fleas and Both me and my dog have been getting bitten a ton. Turns out I’m allergic to them and have broken out in a rash all on my arms. Thankfully they’ve came to spray my place for fleas yesterday. Now today I decided to relisten to my dogs heart as it’s been a few weeks. She was diagnosed with a grade two left sided systolic murmur about 6 weeks ago. She just turned 7 and had no clinical outward symptoms so I’ve been watching it. She had a recheck about 4 weeks ago and the murmur hadn’t gotten any worse. However, the last few days I’ve noticed her coughing here and there and acting lethargic. I listened to her heart and it has gotten worse in just a month. Would say it’s at least a grade III. I’m calling my vet school tomorrow to get her in as soon as possible for an exam to get a second opinion and an echo, but I can’t help but think of all the worst possible scenarios it can be. I know I shouldn’t think like that, but it’s been a rough year so far and my mind just goes there. I’m just really hoping it’s something that’s treatable.

aggievet--Maybe it is just a short reaction to the stupid flea stuff, and some medication and she will be just fine!
