Hi yall,
Does anyone know a good website that has peer reviews of the various Ophtho programs? The only one I've heard of is Scutwork.com, but it seems like maybe 50% of the programs listed have reviews by peers

I know I've applied to a lot of programs based on either name, tier, or word of mouth...so now I'm kind of curious as to how to figure out which interviews I really want to invest the time, energy, and/or money on (should I get these interviews)

there is a link to a university of iowa website in the FAQ sticky that has some reviews of programs. however, i would caution you against using what other people say about a program in determining whether you are going to interview there or not. one of the most important aspects of the residency interview is for you to determine whether you are a good "match" for that program and vice a versa. my dream program could be the program that you rank last.

When I was interviewing, I tried not to look through rose colored glasses. I wanted to find out dirt about programs. Every program has dirt. Ranking them was like the programs were racing to last place. The program that lost that race was ranked #1!

Every program says that they have lot of surgery and happy residents. With the right attitude, you can be happy at any program, even one where the faculty consists of a lot of stinkers. Luckily, my program has only a few stinkers.
