😱 That cage looks gorgeous! I've always wanted ferrets, but my housing isn't conducive to them. (way too many ways they could get into trouble, very old houses, think college houses) That and I don't have the money right now to get an awesome setup like that!

Our place is relatively old, too, so I've always had to keep them contained to one room or the other that I double (and triple) checked was safe. The setup... well, let's just say the rent I save while living in an old apartment goes somewhere. 😛 🙄

Oh well, they're freakin adorable.

My boyfriend's visiting me in Ireland. He's here! 😍 And we've had an awesome first day. 😀

The only things that my puppy destroys in the apartment are dog-specific items.

She never touches the food on my countertop, but she took the Kong & bag of special treats down from the counter and ate/played with them while I was gone. Made me laugh! She knows her stuff before I even show it to her 🙂

Never taking the GRE again!!!! 😀

Congrats!! I was so glad when I got my vet school acceptance because one of the things I was considering doing to improve my application was to take the GRE again (for the 4th time). I was so glad when I got the acceptance, knowing that I would never have to take the GRE again, such a relief.

Never taking the GRE again!!!! 😀

This is cause for celebration!!!! Drinking Party on you behalf by me right now! 😀

I stil haven't decided about retaking mine yet. I was 86% for verbal, which is above average for OK State, but 56% for Q, which is right at where that statistics were for the 2016 class. This year's will probably be higher, so I'm on the fence spending another 180 to retake it. I have til Nov 3 though, so I'll decide next month. In the mean time, Here's to you!

Congrats!!

YAY! Congrats!

This is cause for celebration!!!! Drinking Party on you behalf by me right now! 😀

Thanks everyone!

I'm still not going to fully believe it until I see the actual printed score report because a small part of me is scared I remembered the numbers wrong (especially since I couldn't remember what the score range is now that it's not 200-800), but I am quite pleased (and rather shocked!).

I have a big bull mastiff laying across my lap! Makes me happy even if its not very comfortable since he was supposed to be slept two days ago (and wasn't) and he's really coming out of his shell.

so one of my old techs is looking to transfer where I am. And she was telling me about Dr. b's latest exploits.

a patient that has had a previous cystotomy came in blocked again. Dr. B did the second cystotomy and did not take post-op rads to ensure she got them all. The dog re-blocked and needs to be opened again. She then lied to her boss and said she did take them but couldn't find them or remember who took them with her. Well, her tech told them that no, in fact, Dr. B did not take them. Keep in mind this is an $800-1200 surgery that now needs to be repeated.

Oh geez. She is ridiculous. It's not like taking rads takes a lot of time/effort, especially on an animal that is still out of it from the anesthesia. I hope the hospital is at least paying for the second surgery. Poor dog having to go through that again.

I feel terrible for the dog (and the clients because I've worked with them and they are great). But I put this in the rave thread because her bosses finally got to see for themselves what I was concerned about.

Not to mention the patient has to undergo anesthesia again.

yes, exactly. Details just gotten include that the hospital I worked at before is eating the cost.

Sucks that they have to do that, but it probably is the right thing to do. I know if it were my dog I'd be glad they were doing something that might help to rectify the situation.

Got a new outfit for my job interview tomorrow. 😀
Also, the boyfriend got me a DNA necklace from thinkgeek. <3

Not sure what the hell this cooking thing is 😕 but laundry is good..... just be prepared for it to take 5-6 hours per load.....

Yeah... I had experience with that the first week I was here looking for a flat... Not too thrilled about that.

And what is up with the flats not having dryers??? Seriously, I have to wait for my clothes to dry on their own... Lame. :lame:

my washer is combo - washer/dryer - but it takes about 5-6 hours for the wash and dry cycle to fully wash and dry the load and that is when I do half loads - I only do half loads now..... and I have a very small washer/dryer :lame:

There is no way I would hang up my clothes - I have tried that - it takes too damn long and I can't put them outside as it could rain

You ought to try cooking, it is good for you. 😀

cooking is bad for your health.....

my idea of cooking..... get pringle jar.... take out 10-15 crisps - eat them - that is dinner....

feeling really ambitious... take out bowl, pour cereal into it.... eat dry

or toast bread in toaster.... spread on half peanut butter/ half nutella... eat

overly ambitious..... butter bread..... put pan on stovetop..... take out cheese, put bread, cheese and grill, wait until golden..... eat

when not eating.... like tonight..... maybe make coffee... that requires water in the kettle....

You could make tacos, spaghetti, lasgna.... Enchilidas... Those are all relatively simple to make.

Even chicken is easy to make.

I am not looking forward to having to let my clothes hang dry... I can't put them outside I have no clothes line and it could rain..

I may be drying clothes with a hair dryer.

That requires work..... and calories.... not gonna happen......

prefer my method of cooking to yours

you should see if they can get you a combo washer/dryer......

😆

It took them 2 and 1/2 weeks just to look at the damn thing and another week and 1/2 to finally call and tell me that they were going to replace it and that was only after I kept calling them and annoying them.

I think I would be pushing my luck to get a washer/dryer combo... Not to mention that where the washer goes there would be no way to vent the dryer.

I bought a medium-sized bag of hay for my rabbit for $0.59! (Okay, fine, it was after a $10 credit earned after spending $200 at the pet store on rabbit/cat/dog things, so, not really actually that cheap, but still feels nice!)

And I found the rabbit a new home with three kids in elementary/middle school who are all really excited to have him and care for him. Really sad to see him go, but this was always the goal when I brought him home and I don't want to have to be moving him around with me (driving NY to MD last year was super stressful for both of us!). So, feeling conflicted about this.

Have you seen my washer/dryer combo... not sure how the dryer vents.....

 possibly out the back through the wall???

If I try to put a dryer vent through the wall where the washer goes it would vent into the space under the stairs in my flat.

They make ventless washer/dryer combos. Don't really get at all how they work, but requires water for the drying cycle and doesn't need any space for anything to vent out. Probably what devyn has?

That would make sense. The dryer in the first flat I was staying when I first arrived here used water for the drying cycle... never really did get the clothes very dry.

These places and their wet and ventless drying contraptions!! What is the world coming to?

No not out the wall.... the wall behind it is my hallway....

and yes - what she said.... they use water for the drying cycle which is why the goddamn cycle takes so fecking long to dry the fecking clothes..... 😡

Yeah, it can't imagine they would work as well. But I would think it's more efficient than a hair dryer on your clothes! 😛

Uh.... I am not so sure about that... It took FOREVER for that dryer to dry the clothes.

Well yes it does take forever here for dryers to dry clothes, but it would still be faster than a hair dryer......

it takes some getting used to for sure......

Aww sad to hear the rabbit is leaving 🙁 but if you have a Bark! near you, they now carry oxbow products and the hay is much cheaper than PetSmart

It's bittersweet. It's the best situation for him, but still sad for me.
I get his rabbit stuff at Pet Valu. Don't know how it compares to elsewhere, but definitely the closest to me, so cheapest in terms of gas and time.

SO EXCITED!!! Tonight I get to be part of a team for montoring a post craniotomy patient!!!! Its going to be SUCH AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!!! :soexcited::soexcited::soexcited::woot::woot::woot::banana::banana::banana::biglove:

Uh.... I am not so sure about that... It took FOREVER for that dryer to dry the clothes.

You are probably better off hanging your clothes in your flat, get a dehumidifier and some fans, set the fans in front of the clothes.

Washer/dryer in one? Dryers that dry using water? I'm going to have to go look these up! Never heard of either. I need to know how it works.

Just found $11 in an old pair of scrub pants that I put on for anatomy lab.... aaaw yeah!

(and yes, $11 is awesome 😳)
