From now on, I always want to take other people's pets when they can't keep them or foster animals. 🙂

Two of my gerbils were from a family that got them but had "allergies" (and really bad advice from that pet store I mentioned, so I had to go out and buy all new food and housing).

I was really tempted to take 2 Degus that were free to a good home and included everything. They looked well taken care of. But I was a little afraid of getting yet another pet that is as unfriendly as Fat Mac 🙄

Spent the early part of the morning at Rood and Riddle. Now at Keeneland. I love Kentucky and definitely having an "I love being a vet student" day

Well, damn Cowgirla! I wish I had known you were in town. We could have met for dinner or something and I could have taken you out to the hubby's work (Darley) for a tour.🙁

Next time.....

I have all three of my LOR writers!! :soexcited::soexcited: One of them even commented to my boss (who is one of my LOR writers) that she was impressed with how professionally I asked her.

Now just to get my personal statements written, and the essays, and...oh, and take the "grr", as my family calls it. Not the GRE, the Grr. 🙄

That would have been awesome! We were on a pretty tight schedule though, for the OEPS conference. Got in after midnight on Friday, tours all morning Saturday, conference all afternoon, Rood and Riddle BBQ until 9:30, up early Sunday for more conference stuff, quick pit stop at the horse park, and on the road for a 14 hour drive back to Stillwater to arrive around 3 am haha. Marathon weekend!

I absolutely loved KY though, so if I make it back there at any point soon will let you kno!

Definitely do! I would love to show some SDN'ers around my old KY home.😀 Horses are my first love and KY is after all horse country😎

Project sexy british boy has met an early success! We ended up hanging out all afternoon 😀 😀

Going to bed already. Should get about 8 hours of sleep. Woohoo.

Unless the bf calls. Then probably not. Although I do hope he calls. I hate not having phone cards. Grr.

Majorly overslept this morning, and missed class. Got up early for an exam yesterday and completely forgot to reset my usual alarm when I went to bed. Usually when that happens I'm screwed up for the day and end up having a crappy today.
But today turned out to be awesome. Took the afternoon to myself and had some fun. Back to school tomorrow...

Taking the NAVLE on December 6... this is both exciting and extremely frightening.

Picked up my rat cage last night. It's giant!!!!

I also have a job interview! Super happy about that. It's for a bookstore.

Yet... When I filled out the online application, I swore I was applying for location A, which is very close. Instead it told me I had applied for location B which is at least an hour by bus.

I hate electronic applications. Whatever happened I dropping off my application and resume with a smile?

I paid about $8 for a football ticket and just sold it for $30. 😀

I won 20lbs of free Eukanuba food at an Iams lunch today!

Sent from my DROID RAZR using SDN Mobile

The day started off crappy. Woke up exhausted. Got an email at 10:30 am, telling me that I needed to fill in for someone in surgery (at noon). Yeah, not much advanced notice there.

But, the surgery went awesome! I was only supposed to be assisting (prepping, holding instruments, etc), but my super amazing fourth year surgeon let me break down some ligaments, ligate an ovary, ligate the uterus, and -different dog - remove a testicle! My first official surgery on live animals. She also taught me some new knots and suture patterns and let me do those as well. Wonderful! And, because we had a super team (primary surgeon, me, and two anesthetists), we were done SUPER early. We finished our second surgery before the other groups had even gotten their second animal anesthetized.

He still has to get through the trial run (2 weeks) without doing anything super horrible. But let's be honest how could you say no to this face:

😍 For your crazy owner....

I enjoyed my day today. It started shoulder deep in a bunch of dairy cows and then I came home to my sweet pups who helped me study anatomy as I watched football and drank beer. I'm finishing the night off with some hot-from-the-oven cookies and milk 😀

My old hospital texted me at 6:45 am to let me know that Dr. B is on her final warning from the higher ups. One more screw up and she could be gone.

That is awesome! 👍 Hopefully, they will actually go through with it, unlike the hospital I worked at.

I feel like I have been somewhat productive today. I have gone grocery shopping (which I have needed to do for a while), I cleaned out my fridge (always feels good) and I have started laundry... Now if I could just buckle down and study.

ETA: My flat smells like cinnamon.. 😍

Boyfriend just booked a flight to come visit the first weekend in October!!🙂😀😍

It's been rainy lately and I love the rain.
Football is back! Hoping the Redskins finally have a respectable season with RG3 - so far so good.
My 5k training is going really well and I'm so proud of myself. I've been running in the national park and it's so beautiful and peaceful. I can't even hear myself gasping for breath when I have my music playing 😛
