👍 I'm finally back at my gym for the summer and goodness how I've missed it. I'm think I'm going to suck it up and spend the money for a membership at a gym sort of near school that I tried out right before I left. I just don't get the same results from the regular gym.

Put in my 2 weeks notice today. It's a rave because I'm moving up. But leaving is always bittersweet.
 
some guy this afternoon sped up to cut me off on an on-ramp to the beltway and then 10 miles later, I passed him in a different lane in stop-and-go traffic. hah. take that.


also, I got a pair of essentially brand new ll bean flip-flops free off the neighborhood listserv. yay. they have black dogs on them and are red and pretty.
 
On my way to a party last night, stopped at a grocery store near my friend's house to get a six pack of beer. And ran into my dirtbag ex there.

He looked like hell. I haven't seen him since our very messy breakup three years ago, and he looks like he's aged about 50 years in that amount of time. Plus he's grown his hair out which just made him look creepy and gross. It was fantastic.

I know it's petty and stupid, but the fact that he looks so awful absolutely made my day! :laugh:

Hehe I feel you. I used to work in the same hospital as my bf/then ex and I once passed him in a hallway and he'd gained like 40lb. I almost didn't recognize him (and my coworker actually didn't).
 
I got my wedding dress today!!!! OMG it's beautiful, and I got a major deal on it... I am thrilled 🙂 😍 😍

AmazeBallz!!!!!!! I love living vicariously through other people. I imagine Runaway Bride when she has that dress that she makes bells noises in as your shining moment of beauty and happiness! Always great when you feel and look like a million bucks but spent way less. 👍

Spent yesterday evening stumbling around the river walk in San Antonio with good friends. Mmmm, beeritas.

And today my family threw a party because my sister got engaged!

Good weekend!

I don't know, I once saw a similar issue in another website (I bought a "Cell Block Tango" costume from the original Broadway cast of Chicago for $2.50!! 😱 ) and they just canceled the order and sent me an apology email. Super disappointing, but you can't really blame them.

Luckily I have always fallen the opposite way than the water, despite my best efforts.

Yeah, can't blame them. If it were priced wrong in stores, however, the BBB requires they honor the sticker price. But, it's not something I need, if it doesn't work out...just too good of a deal to pass up if it does!

It was great. The guy was a good sport about it too, we laughed our asses off.

It was just a fun time, I've always liked San Antonio but this was my first time visiting while of legal drinking age 😉

I lived in San Marcos for a year when I was 18. They never questioned my age as most my friends were of age, so I had a pretty good time with my visits to both SA and Austin. 😀

Just depends where and who you happen to be dealing with, but I feel like sometimes (often times?) they care less about checking the wimmins.

I always get carded. I can be out to eat with my parents and just ordering a beer or some wine and they still card me.

The first place we went too the girl literally examined each of our IDs for ~90 seconds...it was so weird and excessive. She even asked one of my friends where he got his ID and then followed up with the suggestion of Vegas. I think it was meant to be a joke but she didn't say it very jokingly and it was more annoying than funny. Forgiveness was granted because she told me I looked like a young version of some (attractive) actor, booze has made me forget who she said 😛

🤣 Tis true!!! Most my counterparts were um... older males and I was the young female of the group. A smile and confident order never failed me.

I'm 29 and I get carded all the time, even when I'm out with my 39 year old husband! I shouldn't complain, except I don't always bring my wallet when we go out and he's driving, so I don't always have an ID to give. I usually get my drink, but there have been a couple of times where I could tell they didn't want to serve me (and they really didn't have to, but I'm glad they did).
 
My cousin's nanny cancelled on them last minute so I get to stay a little longer than planned to watch the cutest little man EVER! 😍
 
I took a vacation day from work today... weather is amazing and we're going to the beach! :banana:

So relaxed...just got back from helping teach an all-day three-day forage workshop for sheep producers, which will wrap up Wednesday evening. I am so, so, so happy I decided to accept the job offer from the small rum specialist. I get in on everything because everybody else could care less about sheep, he understands my passion for the ovine species and industry, loves sheep as much as I do, gets me involved in so many great projects, and is just an all-around great guy who treats me like a daughter. My parents were cold and emotionally abusive and I've never really had the experience of somebody like that who treats me with kindness and respect and wants to help me to do the very best I can in everything. He's like the most down-to-earth person but incredibly smart and really understands all my quirks.

Oh, and he NEVER asks me to do anything he wouldn't do himself...not long ago he was cleaning out the fridge in the lab while I was processing samples. And he's totally reasonable with the hours I need to work.

And today he was talking to one of the main speakers, telling him that I am his right-hand person- MORE than his right-hand person. 😳 I've never really had anybody thank me or show any appreciation for me...so it's nice to have your work respected and appreciated.

So yeah, just thought I'd brag about my PI...:laugh:

No, not that at all...just really glad I can work with somebody like that. He's old enough to be my dad! Like a really great dad, who actually likes sheep. LOL!

(This isn't the first time I've been asked if I'm dating somebody I talk about. It has nothing to do with that. If I am happy about someone or something, I speak of him/her/it in glowing terms. I probably sound pathetically in love with sheep, if you heard me talk...)

He technically works in extension but has does a lot of research and producer outreach, and teaches the small ruminant clerkship at the vet school.

I'm still in undergrad! :laugh: And I won't be applying to vet school for a while...but, he wants to send me to New Zealand for a spell at some point to gain experience at a large station. That would be great!

I got to observe the vet today while doing my EMS on the dairy farm. Got to help with preg checking cows (ultrasound) and with cows that had really bad feet... one poor cow was a missing a good portion of the abaxial wall of the lateral claw on her hind foot... looked so painful.
