Us? Complain? Nevah! ...last term it got us the quizzes in Rad 1 and 2 instead of 100% finals. This term 30/102 got A's in Pharm 1 because they curved due to our complaining. /rant lol.
 
Came home to dinner on the table, baby went to bed on time without a fuss, and got to have some much needed snuggle time with the hubs! 😍 Awesome end to a long day.
 
was looking at my transcript so far - i've completed 106 credits of classes so far in vet school. rave, but wow kill me! no wonder i'm so tired and often burnt out 😉 67 left to go...

Snuggle time? Is that what they are calling it these days? 😉

Baby Liss went to bed without a fuss tonight, too. I should probably go to bed now in case she wakes up.

I went to Babies R Us today, and my ovaries and wallet simultaneously hurt. It was weird.

I got a snotsucker for my friend in FL... I nearly vomited when I realized you were supposed to... er... yeah, I'mm just post a photo.

My rave: I have a tree! First time in 4 or 5 years! I was going to put it up tonight, but I"m too exhausted. Will have to wait until tomorrow after cookie baking with friends!

There were a bunch of toddlers at one farm we visited and my maternal instincts kicked into high gear. Everyone was laughing/shocked. I love kids and am really great with them, but people who only know me in adult life are always surprised by that fact.

Well, ya know.....😉

And TT, although gross in concept, those things are awesome sauce. So much better than a bulb sucker, and oddly enough, cleaner too.

I can see how they'd be easier to clean than the bulb...but I can also picture someone getting distracted as they suck and going just a little too long...whatever, I guess it's your kid and you made it, right? 😉
 
Exams are finally done!!!!!!!!!!!! So FECKING happy! I just have to cross paws I passed and get on with the hols as I won't find out till Jan 22nd.... oh the joy.....

And I got my cuddle clone in the mail today - beyond happy to have him... but it also makes me sad

and tomorrow I fly on a jet plane to see my folks.... (I hate flying but it'll be nice to see everyone for a few days)
 
Gas bill for this month was significantly lower than I was expecting for a 3 story house. It's like $100 less than the 2 BR apartment my roommate and I had last year and we keep the temperature at about the same.
 
So content with life right now...
Getting to see my husband every day.
Had my best semester of vet school yet, grade-wise.
Have gotten to hang out with a lot of friends since being home.
Went to a holiday party at my old work and got to see a lot of co-workers and eat some amazing food. I had a chat afterward with my boss (the campus vet) and he was asking me about some pharm thing and I felt so respected and awesome. And he gave me a clinical lab animal med text that I'm SO excited about.

The only downside is that my supervisor, who is like a favorite aunt, is in the hospital fighting an infection from multiple surgeries. I'm going to visit her there on Monday and bring her some stuff to cheer her up (suggestions welcome...I'm thinking a book of various puzzles and maybe a TV series DVD).

I ended up doing great on the rotation that I thought I was going to fail due to the physics grade mix-up! It's a part of veterinary medicine that I know I'm pretty good at, so it's nice that I'm still awesome lol

Also, I went to my office Christmas party and had a great time. Like a lot more fun than I expected.

Plus, I get to go home soon and see my kitten
 
accepted to NCSU for clinical year starting May 2014!! i think we were the first group to hear back from a school too so that's pretty awesome 🙂 i made a cake and wrote "NCSU '14-'15" and presented it to my parents. the look on my mothers face when it clicked was priceless 😍 she really wanted me to end up at NCSU to be "closer" to home (closer than UF would have been)

Aww, that's awesome!

I actually was just popping in to say that I got accepted to do a cardio rotation at NCSU in March 🙂 (Hey, peeps at NCSU... anyone got the hook-ups for a place to stay for 2 weeks? 😀)
 
I just had my worst semester in vet school, for a lot of reasons that I don't care to get into. But one awesome friend and my husband threw me a surprise birthday party on the last day on finals :hardy:! (It's actually my birthday today, but everyone always leaves town for break before my actual birthday) I'd never had a surprise party before and I needed an outpouring of love from my friends then more then than I ever have. It was amazing😍.
And now on my birthday-slept late and breakfast in bed🙂 It's gotta be a rave post when you use up the happy smiley face options :laugh::nod:
 
So I have been a fan of Fall Out Boy and Panic! At the Disco since I was in middle school… I saw my first concert in 8th grade for the Killers, and now 7 years later have seen 2 of my favorite bands (Panic being my favorite) at the SAME venue I saw my first concert! Oh, it made me relive my childhood memories and I was in awe at such an amazing performance. It made me realize how much their music meant to me and saved me throughout those years. I've grown away from living in the moment and tonight just made me a kid again. Amazing what music can do to the soul.

i failed to read what you quoted and thought you meant you received an engagement ring too and was like what?! i didn't realize we'd been so out of touch since our pre-vet days! yay for fancy stethoscopes though, <3 mine!

Hahaha, we aren't THAT far out of touch 😛 Single forever, still! But anyway, my mom tells me mine is black and gold and is engraved. Can't wait until it comes!!

I just made croissants for the first time and they turned out so freaking beautifully :soexcited:
 
I got some money for Xmas that was supposed to go to something fun......so I went out today and bought a TV!

I feel so reckless!!!! 😀

Boxing Day sale wasn't great, but I got a deal. Also got an Apple TV to go with it so I can spend today tinkering with it. Yay!
 
Got called in for an hour ICU shift last night and managed not to be pissy about it. And it netted me the rest of today off, which means I can go to dinner with family tonight without accidentally getting stuck at school at the last minute.
 
Somewhere along the way, I somehow did something right training my dog. He's made me so proud the past few days
He barked and growled and looked intimidating when the electrician came to the door early this morning. Hackles up and everything. I live alone, so I'm okay with that reaction when random strange men come to the door haha. Settled down as soon as I told him to, tail started wagging a hundred miles an hour, politely greeted the guy without jumping on him, and then proceeded to sit and watch the guy work from the doorway, like I told him to. Usually he's all over people and acting like a crazy dog, especially when they are down at his level. I was so impressed with how well he listened to me, right up until the guy left. Stuck to my leg as we were walking him out and didn't even look like he was thinking about jumping or running for the open door, hah.

He's also recently learned that when strange dogs are running around the neighborhood and "his" front yard, it's better to come inside and sit by me than stand outside snarling through the fence (dog aggression issues...). Only took a few boxes of cookies to teach him that I'm more fun than picking on other dogs. Maybe this lesson will carry over to leash walking around other dogs?

After four years, I think Chevy has finally learned something more than sit! (He's not usually the sharpest crayon in the box...) He's been so super good lately it's shocking.
 
I know that feeling! I thought my dog was worthless teaching an tricks. 2 summers ago I taught him how to shake and roll over after 10 years! 😛

I was talking to the boss today about when I might possibly be able to come back part-time(out due to medical issues) and I've been offered an upper management position when I come back! 😀 Steady hrs and more pay(it's salaried)! I haven't worked since September and I get offered a better job! Winning!
