Yes and they fill up FAST. I think fall of 2028 spots will open in May of 2027, and spring of 2029 will open September 2027. (I think)

Same, I LOVED my ASNA rotation.
First come first served. No recerences/experiences, just $25 for the application and an optional $200 if you want to stay in their dorms for two weeks. Otherwise you find your own accommodations.

The dorm is worth it, saves so much $!
I drove there instead of flying and having a car was super convenient, but obviously not everyone is going to want to drive 10+ hours to get to their next rotation
but if you can, I recommend it!

Yup, paid for and secured. The rotation I got was actually my second choice; my friend has one in March and I was trying to line it up so we could split the driving. I looked at taking the train but it would be 48+ hrs. So I’ll likely fly unless someone else nearby is going and wants to share the load.The dorm is worth it, saves so much $!

I am very beholden to my to do list. I made a comprehensive list of tasks I need to do to be ready for the midterm on Monday. I finished that list today, and I don't know what else to add to it— but I feel weird finishing studying a day early because I know all my peers are spending the whole weekend studying. But I LOVE finishing a to do list.

At least when I was there, people were pretty good about those with cars helping out with adventures for everyone else. It's definitely not a city with significant public transit, though there's also always Uber!

Today this dog was running around the hospital. Insane turn around in 24 hours. Very rewarding. Reminds me of my why :’)

Today the new house got sod! Now we just need it to rain, and luckily the forecast in my area has two waves of rain on the next week’s forecast after literally weeks of crazy heat and dry weather.
The exterior is 98% complete…just need to stain the front door, finish trim around the porch posts, and hang the lanterns next to the door.
Cabinet construction was delayed so the interior has been on a standstill, but cabinets are supposed to be ready tomorrow and installed next week.

accomodations are god sent. i have never felt so good walking out of an exam. oh my god. that was my first time ever using any accomodations and it was tailored specifically to my ADHD-induced anxiety!! i could actually recall the things i learned, and use scratch paper to draw it out. i know it may sound silly, but i could cry right now. this has just totally changed my life. just wow.

Yay! That is so amazing. 😍 Good job getting the accommodations you need. Curious, do the exams that don't have accommodations not allow scratch paper?! What is the regular formatting of these exams? I am taking organic chemistry right now and I cannot imagine not having scratch paper allowed.

At least at WSU most exams not only allow scratch paper but provide it for you! I can't think of an exam off the top of my head where scratch paper was not allowed
I feel like we had scratch paper provided at Illinois too. Where else am I going to write down the question numbers that I wanted to go back and stare at for an extra 10 minutes and not change my answer?!
in my excitement, i don't think i worded that correctly haha. everyone is provided with scratch paper! unfortunately for me, i need to literally draw everything out and write full blown essays on the sides explaining what is happening. that takes up about 50% of the exam time itself, but if i do not write it down like that it's as if i never learned it at all. so what i meant was that i had adequate time to draw everything out the way i need to, and take my time with each question, and complete it all without feeling rushed or me getting sloppy with reading/guessing.

That makes complete sense!! I am glad you got accommodations so you have time to be able to draw everything out. I hear you on that. Drawing things out and writing takes a lot of time, then all of the sudden there are three questions left and only 10 minutes! Proud of you!

Speaking of learning to enjoy surgery I removed this giant neck lipoma yesterday (it was causing the dog respiratory issues) and I’m v proud of it
I noticed a small mass pop up on my dog's elbow area a few weeks ago and it reeked of a mast cell tumor. Fast forward to now, it was indeed a mast cell tumor but my surgeon got it all! So boo cancer but yay curing it!
Rave for the girlies: I’ve apparently been wearing the super wrong sized bra for the last few years. Finally went and got properly sized. Omg they feel so much better. I used to be an underwire only person but for the last few years I’ve been primarily wearing sports bras because anything underwire was so uncomfortable. Go and get fitted. The worst thing that happens is it’s awkward.
Mild rant: I needed bras now and couldn’t wait for a sale like I normally would. Why do you have to pay so much if you’re not a “conventional (ie: skinny small)” size???

We're having an unusually strong heatwave where I live, around 99F, for the past 3 days.
People have been using their air conditioners and fans 24/7.
With scarcely any notice, the power company said electricity to our entire neighborhood would be shut-off for repairs, all day tomorrow.
Well, I have an indoor cat and that does not feel okay.
So, our cat will be staying in a beautiful AIR-CONDITIONED cat-only hotel tomorrow, and AWAY from 95F+ weather.
People have been using their air conditioners and fans 24/7.

PASSED THE FINAL WITH AN 80%?!?!?! NO WAYYYYY
idc too much for numbers, it's not my thing despite it feeling good to do better on an exam. holy crap, what a whirlwind 7 weeks of block one and now it's over?!?! finished out strong!! i walked out of that exam today genuinely convinced that there was no way i passed well enough to not have to take the re-take final (we are only allowed 1 per year). failing the first exam had me in a horrible place, passing the second one gave me some hope and seeing it all play together for the final just gave me so much confidence going into the next block!
now for a three day weekend where i can rot, and catch up on sleep and stop having nightmares about the intrinsic muscles of the tongue 😳

I ALSO successfully tricked my sad lonely boy into playing with a new toy for the first time in two months! He has started a new semi concerning behavior where he hears baby chirping on a digital picture frame and is now talking to himself in the reflection of his food bowls…but this beats him sitting in one spot barely eating or moving. We are still grieving but doing our best to move forward. I am so proud of him and he has cheered up so much. He finally took a bath the other day too! Baby steps!

Following the end of an extreme heatwave, with temperatures soaring to 100-102F, finally picked-up my cat from AIR-CONDITIONED cat-only hotel.
Due to a broken main transformer, and heat-related power outages, none of our homes had any electricity, meaning no air conditioning, for a few days. Home was scorching hot and there was no flow of any fresh air. It was stifling hot outdoors. Cold water faucets produced warm water. Surfaces were hot to the touch. All food in refrigerator had to be thrown away.
Each day, I visited my cat at the cat hotel because I was trying to let her know we were not abandoning her!
Wanted our indoor-only cat to have air-conditioning in 100-102F weather, especially when we (her family) were at work.
Wanted our cat to be safe, with fresh water and fresh wet cat food. Otherwise, she would be at home, alone, and wearing a full fur coat.
She stayed in the cat hotel for 5 days.
Now she is home and all is well!
Some people (who have never owned a pet) seemed to think it was ridiculous for a cat to stay in an air-conditioned cat hotel during an extreme heatwave.
Pretty sure our cat would NOT agree with them!
