I will do my first cystotomy on Wednesday. The owners brought the dog in today and it had been previously diagnosed with uroliths. The owners were upset because x-rays weren't done and the diagnosis was on palpation alone. They have tried the food and weren't getting better. they came in because she was blocked this morning. She was in the hospital today and urinated for me and passed a stone about 1 cm in diameter. I explained everything to them and told them why we needed x-rays and they agreed. We talked through the stone that is 1/3 the size of the dog's bladder, they were approved for care credit and we proceed Weds unless they have an issue and need to come in early. I explained I had never done the surgery before. They hate Dr. B (their original doctor) so much that they would rather have someone who has never done a cystotomy before perform the surgery over her. I managed to procure someone to do it with me. They are also going to be following me to the new practice.
The place I am transferring to told me they have an official start date of 9/1/12 - so I get to claim mileage until then. And they asked me if I wanted any say in the schedule. Such a difference already!
Wow - awesome to all of that. Good for you Dyachei! You will do great on Wednesday, have fun! 😀

You are weird... I love clean teeth, hate the dentist and having them mess with my teeth...
