I was taken aback for a moment after reading this, then I saw you're from Florida. I'm much farther north and its in the 70's here too. Kind of funny, but here I keep the windows open on the hottest days. 😀 I kind of forgot that people who are on this forum are from all over the place and have different weather 🙄

Mid 60s! (Don't laugh, it's PEI, I take what I can get!) 😀 I could actually bike to work today. And first day of work was good; I have a feeling that I'll be busy, which is good. And I've got 7 of 8 marks back, and so far, it's all good news, including a few that were higher than I was expecting.
 
To continue the raves about weather, I wanted to add that I can't believe how nice it is outside here!!! We definitely don't see 26C/79F until at least July so I am extra happy today! 😀

No warmer than this though. This is perfect!
 
Assisted in an Summer Indian Recipes class yesterday that was awesome and went so smoothly with other real great assistants and a good class.
Then had a great ride today. The ring was the best footing it has been for me like ever and the pony got his mane roached and looks stellar with his summer coat mostly in (so it's been a while since I've ridden...). He was so good, not perfect, but really good in that he was responsive and we were able to work on things and feel accomplished about our ride (which is more fun than a totally push-button pony anyway). And it was such good riding weather--slightly overcast, just a tiny bit chilly, but warm enough to not wear a jacket.
 
Fell asleep on the couch and just woke up. Logged myself back onto my computer and not even 10 seconds later my grandparents just happen to skype me! 😀 😍

Couldn't ask for better people to talk to before going to bed. 🙂
 
I hadn't had very much protein today... so I got myself a cup of ice cream with some of my chocolate protein powder in it. It was surprisingly really good. :laugh:

Some time off is the best thing I could have done for myself. Seriously. I needed it very badly.
 
I was home with baby liss alone last night and I got a decent amount of sleep, was able to get some housework done today, was able to shower without completely worrying about the baby being alone in the next room, and I'm going to eat dinner at the fire station tonight because my husband has been working a 48hr shift and misses us. I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of this mommy thing. Just in time to start clinics lol.
 
Someone in my class has faithfully attended and recorded every lecture all semester, and posted a link to all of them so anyone can access them. I love him so much right now! He is saving my slacker *ss. 😍

Wow, that's super nice of him. That was one thing that I liked about Penn. All our lectures are recorder unless a professor requests that they aren't. We have two classmates that were hired as our "IT" people and are there every day to make sure the class is recorded. Now I just wish it could be the full lecture recap with video so that I can tell what slide the professor is on when I'm listening to lectures.
 
Got to run the mass spec for the first time today, and my samples actually worked. I'm sure the novelty of this will wear off soon as I start running all the samples for my project, but for now, I'm still a little geek-giddy over it. Especially since one of the samples was kind of a mystery - referral case of a turtle with shell sloughing. Turned out to be Vibrio alginolyticus, not something AVC sees a lot of!

I just sent my group my part of the last assignment I have due before graduation!:soexcited:

I also found out yesterday that one of my best friends is pregnant! Its definately a bit of a shock because I didn't expect her to have kids for at least a few more years (and I don't think she did either), but I'm really happy for her.

I also get to see her this weekend which I'm super excited about because she lives in another state, but her brothers in my class so she's coming for graduation. I can't wait for this weekend!
 
Woke up this morning to my mini aussie boy smushing his face into mine, his tail nub going a million miles an hour. As soon as I woke up and said "What, sweet boy?" He zoomed around the bed and was playbowing and licking my face, all the while wagging his nub like crazy. Me waking up and acknowledging him was the best thing ever for him.

He then resigned to smushing into me and rolling upside down while licking my face.

Its the little things. These dogs keep me going during times like these.

my aussie mix is thrilled to see me awake every morning - usually doing a lot of what your dog does. such a pleasant thing to wake up to! hard to not want to get out of bed when unconditional love is staring you down begging for food and loving on you!

😍 nub wag! I just love when they get so excited and their whole butt wiggles with it.
 
I 😍 SDN

I started studying for my Chem final and went through class notes/practice problems/textbook and compiled all the major stuff into a study guide with added detail on the things I felt I didn't know as well as others. Got the idea from SDN and it's seriously an awesome method. Only need to get a 75% on my final to keep my A 😀
 
Last final--done! Undergrad is over, last weekend of work and then the summer is mine. We signed a contract on a house near the vet school yesterday, flying to visit my parents (haven't seen the family since Thanksgiving) on Mother's day. Such a happy weekend! 😀

It's alright. My piggies yell at me every morning for their breakfast. That's all they want from me. As soon as they have their noms, they don't care about me. Well, Mowgli kind of does still care about me. He'll come to the side of the cage and say hi at least. Solstice is still a scaredy pig.

I'm seriously surprised my neighbors haven't complained at times. It's bad though. My voice, someone coming up the spiral staircase, the fridge or the crinkling of plastic sets them off. But I love it. It made me so sad when neither piggy was wheeking. It might be one of my favorite noises. Hahaha.
 
Decided not to work overtime tonight (my only night off this week) and instead I'm at home with the hubs, drinking wine, baking cookies, and listening to Bruce Springsteen very loudly. Because I am that cool. 😀

Second rave: Noam Chomsky, my cat with IBD, is a whopping 14.2 pounds!! At his lowest he was in the 12's and he has hasn't been above 14 pounds in over a year. He looks amazing. He hasn't thrown up once since starting his steroid treatment. 😍
 
Drs have decided that my uncle doesn't need surgery...at least not right away.

This is awesome news! 😀

He will just get treated with some hardcore antibiotics and when he is well again he will have the hole in his head/ear that his brain is trying to escape from repaired.

I'm just glad he's not undergoing emergency surgery while he is battling the menengitis.
 
I'm officially done with vet school! This is both :soexcited: and :scared:

Sooo, we have a lot of Mexicans that live around our area. They work at the Dairy Farms, a few at some swine farms. Most of them are Veterinarians from Mexico.

I just got a lap dance from one of them tonight. And it was very good! 😀 Almost like he'd done it professionally. :naughty:
