Back In the beginning of the year I signed up for La2028 Olympic ticket drops. Somehow I got selected for drop 1 and I can try and purchase tickets today 😱

While I have mixed feelings about the USA being allowed to host the Olympics given the current state of things, I’m going YOLO. It will be my summer going into 3rd year, so my last summer. I’ll never have this opportunity again and DAMMIT I wanna see mens volleyball haha

Fingers crossed!

experiencing moonjoy and moonhope.

we as a species seriously needed this space mission. we often forget we are all living on the same planet and that we are all the same. artemis ii instilled so much hope and love and joy and passion in people. like **** dude, these people went farther than any human has been before! (bonus: they shouted our field out.) everything is so scary and stressful lately, but if enough people are feeling the same hope and joy i’m experiencing right now, i think we can move forward and make some serious change.

being sucked into the exhausting system causes you to forget that you have free will! you are a person! go do something that makes you genuinely happy today! go experience whimsy and joy! call your friends or family, go watch a movie, take your dog to the park, crochet something, read a new book. go and live, because at the end of the day, we are all tiny little specs of consciousness on this floating rock.

Not to be a downer at all because I agree with your sentiments 100%, but also…I’m just glad the reentry and recovery went well. I am old enough to remember watching the Columbia explode on TV in 2003…I lived less than an hour away from the hometown of one of the astronauts on that mission, so it was a Really Big Deal both before and after the explosion. I’m not quite old enough to have witnessed the Challenger though. So glad this one went so much better and is leaving people with hope!

Absolutely DESTROYED a 50 mile bike ride today! Who am I nearly hitting 30 mph haha.

Man I’m gonna miss being able to do long endurance events while I’m in school but gonna keep at it where I can

I jumped my horse for the first time in 5 months today and it was the first time in probably a year that I’ve jumped without her bucking me off (for all those concerned, she has an absolutely clean bill of health and is not bucking out of pain, she’s just silly).

Not sure if this is something to rave about or not, but for the first time in my veterinary experience I participated in bull semen testing. LA repro work is quite fascinating! We have a lot of beef cattle ranches where I live so it has been great connecting with our local and large-scale food producers.
