So I'm doing over some RC in DAT Qvault and noticed a trend in the RC passage topics. The first topic resembles a peer reviewed research topic in biology. The second is also a biology topic for the more casual reader, and the last topic has little to no biology. Is this the format for the real DAT?

Also, I've read that some topics on the real DAT are harder than others, most notably Piano, FRAP, and ethics. Say for some unlucky reason you got all the "hard topics" on your test, you shouldn't really feel your RC test was unfair right? After all, it's still graded on a curve? Please let me know your thoughts, thanks.

I don't think we're allowed to answer questions like that but I'm going to try to.
From my experience of recently taking the DAT, you can't make a generalization about the topics. However, the ADA has released info on the length of the passages ( aprox 1500 words) - so the best way to prepare for this section is to read at least one passage a day to get used to a wide range of topics. Also start timing yourself, you want to be able to read a passage in about 8-10 mins.
Local libraries offer books which have collections of articles- sry but the name of the book is not coming to me right now.
