I am trying to boost my score in RC, and have heard that reading articles from Pubmed is one of the better ways.

If you have used Pubmed, how did you go about it? Did you just read, or did you try to outline?

Thanks for the insight!

I'm sure there's much better advice to give but I emphasize the abstract and then focus on the parts of the paper that best represent the information found in the abstract. For example, information given in the abstract is usually represented by graphs..go to those parts of the paper, understand them, tie it together with the conclusion and you've got a nice summary. The only thing thats really skipped is the methodology.

Actually i have been thinking to study articles from pubmed for RC. (but i started with wikipedia 🙂) Usually what you search from pubmed, the results will be too many to pick from. And many articles are too complicated for RC. If you search for a particular topic, I would suggest to find reviews articles. Some of them are very short or very long. But they don't have all the data or methods which most likely won't come out on the DAT. Review articles usually will point out the main information of the topic of your interest, and also any new findings in that particular subject. anyways, I was a science researcher and use pubmed all the time. just some tips I thought to type it down.

hey 🙂
I have asuggestion for Rc if your problem is slow reading . My Rc score was 13(piano🙁) the first time that I took the dat and now Im scoring 19ish in about 2 months and english as it shows😉 is my second language. I purchesed a computer software called "EyeQ" and I started practicing first I could get 240 words per minute and now Im 400 ands It has reading comprehension test although itis not related to Dental( lots of passages in DAT are not medical related) it was really helpful for me and it made a lot of confidence in me 🙂 just go check it online they have free trial, oh and also check sciencedaily for bio articles , the articles are long and semi-hard and medical related
wish you the best luckkkk👍
