Hello! Can you please help me with my allopathic school list? (I have not finished my osteopathic list) I applied during the 2020-2021 cycle and am reapplying now. I want to maximize my chances and limit schools that will not consider me.

Background: White male, economically disadvantaged from small town, WA resident, BS in Biology
GPA: cGPA 3.46, sGPA 3.25, post bacc A’s in biochem and genetics (8 credits total)
MCAT: 514 (128/128/126/132) in 2022; 506 (126/126/126/128) in 2020
Clinical volunteering: 461 hours hospital volunteer
Non-clinical volunteering: 433 hours young adult shelter volunteer, 291 hours food bank volunteer
Research: 33 hours
Shadowing: 103 hours across 5 specialties
Leadership: Lead Volunteer at young adult shelter, Supervisor/Assistant Manager at retail store, Gymnastics Coach
Other ECs: collegiate gymnast at my university, Eagle Scout, goat farming 4-H club, worked at: UPS, retail store, and gymnastics academy
Improvements from last application:
· Added all of the non-clinical volunteering (724 hours total over 2 years)
· Retook biochem and genetics (both were Ds, they are now As)
· Retook MCAT (went from 506 to 514)
· Added 60 hours shadowing
· Updated all LORs and got 4 new ones (post bacc professors, and non clinical volunteer leaders)
· Re-wrote essays with more reflection and less idealistic view of medicine (after receiving feedback)

GPAs are not viable for MD but fine for DO. What were your year by year GPAs? If you don't have a steep rising GPA trend, then for MD you'll need continued GPA reinvention by taking ~20+ credits.

GPA credits/trend is a bit over the place because I did dual enrollment and have been out of school since June 2019.
I have a lot of high school and no junior year on AMCAS.

2014:
High School 3.73c/3.73s (58 total/24 sci credits)
Freshman 3.47c/3.28s (26 total/19 sci credits)
Sophomore 2.91c/2.75s (27 total/23 sci credits)
Junior (no GPA)

2019:
Senior 3.36c/3.22s (18 total/15 sci credits)

Total: 3.46c/3.25s (128 total/81 sci credits)

2022:
Post-bacc 4.0c/4.0s (8 credits all sci)

Note: the 8 credits are not factored into the 3.46c/3.25s

I have already submitted my primary to TCU. I was also going to apply to Washington State since they blind GPA, and an advisor there said I was good to reapply in 2021. Would you recommend only applying to those two MD schools this cycle?

It seems your dual enrollment credit is what is bolstering your GPA. You could apply to Washington State then, but do not add any other MDs. A downward trend (reverse Nike swoosh in a way) may scare off DO schools as well.

I suggest:

PNWU
Western (Lebanon campus)
NYITCOM (both campuses)
PCOM (all campuses)
Touro NV
Touro NY
ACOM
WCU
WVSOM
KCOM
LECOM
Campbell
VCOM (check cut-offs for GPA)
KCU (check cutoffs for GPA)
Marian
KYCOM

Amazingly, your GPAs are above TCUs 10th %iles, so give it a shot. Ditto for WSU
