Hi,
I'm non-trad re-applicant (27 yr old), currently waitlisted at 2 MD schools. It's unlikely I will get into these schools this time around. I'm kicking myself for not applying to any DO schools. I will definitely be applying to DO schools in the upcoming cycle. Problem is that I have alot of different things scheduled for this year and it'll be very difficult for me to take additional courses or get a research job. I'm wondering if I can get into a DO school in the upcoming cycle with my stats, as-is:
3.42 undergrad GPA, 3.35 post-bacc GPA, 3.34 BCPM GPA (originally graduated with a Finance degree and took all the prereq science courses as a post-bacc at local university)
31Q MCAT (10 PS, 10 VR, 11 BS)
3 years volunteering at Vanderbilt Hospital
30 hours shadowing an MD physician (I will definitely shadow a DO)
Several years of various community service type work - homeless ministry, youth mentorship at local church, science tutor, etc..
Appreciate any input and thoughts!
