I applied for the first time last year and was waitlisted at two schools. Ultimately, I did not get an acceptance, so I am applying again this year. For those of you who have been in this boat before, what did you do about your LORs? I plan to ask two of my evaluators from last cycle and two new vets I have been working with since then. Is it safe to assume the evaluators from last year will submit the same letters (I haven't worked with either of them over the past year)? Is that frowned upon by schools or something that they won't notice? I'm confident that they were both excellent letters, but I am curious about how schools feel about it. Thanks!

Nothing wrong with submitting the same letter twice. When I asked them to write the letters for the 2nd time - I explained that I didn't get in, what schools I was applying to, and what I had done over the last year to improve my application. I know one LOR changed a few things in her letter because we met over coffee to discuss it. The vets I used didn't save their letters from the previous year so they rewrote them. I have no idea what my PI did. Knowing him, he just cut and pasted from the last year! 😉

Might not even be the same person to read it the 2nd (or 3rd, or 4th) year anyway!
