Alright, so here's the deal.

My girlfriend of 3 years and I just broke up over the fact that I'm moving from Florida to attend dental school for the next 4 years in Maryland. Yeah, 3 years out the door. Where was the love?

Anyway

My question is: knowing that I'm moving back to Florida after dental school and thus not wanting to enter in another serious relationship (unless, god forbid I fall in love), will there be enough time to date around during my dental school years so I can maintain my balance of happiness? I guess what I'm asking is is it even feasible?

Thanks.

Staying celibate for 4 years is unrealistic, so, yes you will be dating. Some people recommend to not get involved with classmates in case you encounter a "crazy".

Plenty of my classmates have SOs and they make time for them. If you want to date, you have the time for it.

1. Date outside your class.
2. Casual dating over serious relationship at least for the first two years because the bulk of your class rank comes from D1 and D2. Emotional toll is less for casual in case of a break-up/ghosting...
3. Grades and dating/going out are inversely related for most people, so tread lightly if you want to keep your class rank high.

If you have god-given handskills and memorizing a high volume of random facts in a short period of time comes naturally to you, discard my advice.
