I've got the iPod loaded up with Goljan, got the crisp RR Path ready for a read....my question to you, young Jedi:

Should I open up the book and read along and highlight (using the numerous Golj Audio-RR pages keys provided here on SDN) or is GA more effective if I just veg out at my desk and listen to it?

As the great one himself says (paraphrased): "You can't highlight with a highliter, you'd need a paintbrush"

For the first run through I'd just sit back and listen. Read the relevant chapter(s) after you listen to the lecture. On the 2nd and 3rd round, read along and commit as much as possible to memory.

I read FIRST, and then listen to the audio with the book open. That way, you essentially get two passes on his material.

I'll also have the slides open on my computer during the audio.

Make sure you're at least looking at the path images as you listen to him if you decide to veg out. I read the chapters before then listened and annotated the clinical scenarios he describes througout the school year. I plan on going through it all once more :luck:

Do you have a link for those page keys?

Do whatever helps you to focus on understanding what he is saying. For me it helped to follow along in RR, but for others it might be easier to just focus 100% on listening.
