This is a forum for open discussion and sharing of information about all things military medicine. We have a large membership coming from all branches (Army, Navy, Air Force, USPHS). There is extensive information and advice here; please use the search before asking a question.
Because this is a purposefully anonymous forum, we recommend not using your real name or military email address.
Guidelines for Posting:
Anonymity is a conscious choice for SDN: information flows more freely and honestly in an anonymous forum. However, it also allows for people to behave in ways they may not in real life. We do not tolerate inappropriate behavior -- especially in a forum which is made-up of future, current and retired officers. The officer corps must always represent itself professionally, even in anonymity.
Handling Disagreements:
Truth can hurt. Officers are trained to collect information and take the best actions based on facts; there is little room for personal feelings. To be most effective, we must be truthful with ourselves and those around us.
If you're coming for advice and don't like the advice you've been given, take a look at yourself before poking at others. A true officer accepts criticism and takes it as an opportunity to improve. If you can't handle hard truths and disappointments, the military will not be a good fit for you. That said:

- Personal (ad hominem) attacks are not appropriate.
- If you disagree with someone, address their post, not the individual.
- Use evidence when discussing a point, reference it.
- If someone continues to behave unprofessionally and you can't resolve it with them, please use the "Report Post to Moderator" button.
