Hi everyone,

I would like to share my experience in NBDE part 1, which I took yesterday!

I could not do it well, but, believe me it is not very difficult. Most of the questions(80%) were very straight forward. Many questions were from previous years/dental decks.

Read well on DNA/RNA transription/Translation/Replication. I mean, know all the enzymes and role of each enzyme.

I am hoping for the best. I have a GPA of 3.7. But, I know that it all depends on my part1 score. I think, I need to retake.
Anyway, good luck and thanks for all your help.
Bye

In speaking of dental decks, should we remember every little details on it or just the example question? You know, sometime the dental deck has so much details on it.

Hi friends,
Sorry for the delay.
Regarding the dental decks. it is always good to know each and everyword of dental decks.(which I could not do completely!!!)
Regarding the exam questions, I do remember few of them. But, I am not sure whether I can post it or not. I think, I need to ask Fedo for this.
Still, I can mention that pls read about fluoride in detail.
Nutmeg liver, diverticularis disease, podosites, all the mainl branches of cepahalic trunk/artery.
Good luck

Hi,
I referred 2004 decks. I agree with Fido.
That is good enough to get 90 +
Reading the ASDA reprints is must. They are very helpful.

I did refer some text books(NMS series) in the beginning of my studies. But, I do not think that it is necessary.

In my opinion, it is always better to start reading the anatomy, physio and biochem first. That's what I did. What I realised that if I understand the normal or basic stuff it is easier to understand(also to link things and memorise them) the abnormal situation in the body-that is nothing but micro and patho.
Good luck

Hey rajjos77

All the best with your results. 😀 :luck: Don't think about retaking it until you get your scores as it very difficult to judge how well you actually did.

Hi friends,
Thank you very much for your wishes.
I really appreciate your encouragement.

ASDA reprints means the old/previous years' released exam papers.
I referred them in Kaplan center. I am sorry, I do not have them with me. Kaplan will not allow us to take home.
But, I am sure that you get them from ASDA web site.
Hope it helps.
Thanks once again
Good luck

hi there , thanks for sharing your experience with us
good luck to you :luck:
I'm taking part I in July and I'm soooo anxious about everything

hay every little information in the dental decks have a meaning and not an example, so be aware of it . and if u did not understood it go to a book and read it

I did tk up.. boards a week back.. dont know.. how i did.. though.. 😀
I would say.. anats, micro/path, physio/biochem are only diversions to test your dental knowledge.. LOL

I had about 40 to 50 questions only on Occlusion, lateral protrusions, TMJ position during movements... which really drained out few drops of juice which was left in my brain....
then another 10-15 on primary teeth

other subj like already mentioned.. direct question..
anyone preparing for baords.. having ample time.. be sure.. to be confident about review notes, decks and question papers... thats it.. dont bother goin thru other books unless you dont know wat these materials are talking about...

You are sure to score a 90+

all the best for you all...
and for me.. for my score... 🙄

hi there ,
since you know what these people are asking about in the papers , you must have done very well. all the best for ur results . you will get a score of 90+
regards

Hey, muscleman7911. I just wanted to ask a question about your post. What did you mean by "review notes". I know you obviously suggest 2004 dental decks and old exams, but do you think reading Kaplan is necessary? Thanks so much for your help!

hi,
so u mean to say that most of ur preparation was from review material....not from decks and released papers....
