Hi, I applied in October last year with GPA 3.84, s GPA 3.60 and MCAT 510. I am a Texas resident, ORM and taking science courses to boost my GPA. I'll re-take MCAT on June 22 and feel optimistic, Need your advice on the following
- Apply to one school in TMDAS & AMCAS and get verified by late June. Apply to other schools in mid July once the repeat MCAT score is in. Is this a reasonable approach? Would I be behind n the process? or
- Do you suggest applying to schools that send automatic secondaries with the old MCAT score, since my new MCAT score would be in by the time I am about to submit secondaries.
I am really confused. Appreciate your advice.
Secondaries are often a tax on the hopelessly naive, if not pathologically clueless.

Wait for the second score, as you'll get screened on the first one if that the only score you have.

In this case, I think I would disagree slightly with my colleague. With a 510 I doubt you're getting "screened" out. At the same time, applying in July is still probably plenty early, so it doesn't make a huge difference either way.

However, with your stats I really do question whether the MCAT was really the culprit vs. just applying late last year or not having enough ECs.
