reapplicant here, currently doing master's. please respond (brief if you'd like) if you're in similar situation, or maybe know someone who is/was here, or even if you have some insight, thanks:

1. are you reapplying now, or maybe next cycle (fall 08)?
2. i understand AADSAS calculates collective gpa of undergrad + graduate? meaning 3.5 in undergrad only pulled up to 3.75 overall assuming a 4.0 in master's, is this true?
3. are you retaking DAT? i did real well, but it was >2 years ago, gotta retake as its "expired" by most schools i'm applying to.
4. in terms of previous two questions, lets assume you did better in the masters and on DAT retake. are you applying for more top tier (rather, harder admission stats) schools or staying with schools you had previously applied to?

sorry, 1 billion long questions😎
cheers

I think when you reapply you have to consider the length of the program. If it's one year, go ahead and apply to dental schools and keep them updated with new grades, etc. If it's a 2 yr program, you'll probably have to apply after the first year. Also, you must complete the program you start, it's kind of like an unspoken rule/courtesy among schools.

Your undergrad gpa and grad gpa are calculated seperately, meaning they appear as seperate lines on your app. If your postbacc classes are at the undergrad level, they're averaged with your undergrad gpa.

3. are you retaking DAT?
Yes.

I'm not picky, I'll go anywhere that takes me.

1. I am a reapplicant

2. AADSAS grade summary breaks down your grades as a separate line by:
- the schools you attended (sci and overall is shown)
- undergrad vs. graduate / post-bacc (sci and overall is shown)
- Combined overall gpa, sci gpa, and BCP gpa
- The schools and programs that you attended will be shown in reverse sequence. Therefore, it is advantageous to do well in your most recent endevors.

3. I am not retaking the DAT. I scored 21/21/21 on my first attempt.

4. I added more schools to my application this year because I know that the number of applicants went up again AND I can't financially afford to sit around again for another year.
