Hi guys..... congrats for those who got in and for those who didnt--dont lose hope 🙂

I am wondering if there is anybody here who scored below 19 on his/her first DATs and then significantly improved his/her grade to above 20.

I really need your input,, I have forgotten so much of my bio and orgo that even when I studied well from a certain prep book It wasnt enough and I got a 16. I want to know what you guys did to improve your dats that much.

thankyou

I took a Kaplan class. It was expensive but worth it. I went from, I think 16/17 (academic/PAT) to 18/20. They're not over 20... but they're competitive I think. I would recommend Kaplan.

Went from 19/21 (AA/PAT) to 21/28. Took Kaplan class the first time.

If you haven't taken a prep class, take it. If so, get the following resources and study your brains out for 2 months.

DAT Destroyer (using wikipedia for any information I didn't know)
TopScore or DAT Achiever
Some Bio review material (i.e. Cliff's AP Bio, Schaums, Examcrackers, or just old college textbooks)

Additional but not necessary: Kaplan online course

I got those resources and just studied 4-5 hours a day. Made notecards, review sheets, whatever. If you put in the time and use the right material, you will do well.

Good luck.

I took the Kaplan course, but I never went to the actual class... didn't feel like the teacher new enough about what she was talking. The material, however, is outstanding.... know everything in those books, and it will be impossible not to improve your grade.

Also, I liked to use the TopScore prectice exams, they sim the real thing pretty well.
