I matched, not scrambling, but I received an email from the secretary at a prelim program I interviewed at- generic stating all their scramble spots have filled...

Does me receving this imply I may have matched there? or was it just sent out to anyones email they had on file? sorta strange.

and not sent out via eras.

If anything, it would imply that you did NOT match there.

However, it is more likely that it was sent to all applicants.

you probably got the message by accident.

Don't fret.

I received that email as well. I applied to that program and declined by interview, so they were not on my match list nor was I on their list (I'm sure).

I think it just got sent out to anyone's email address they had for whatever reason.

If you had matched there, the email you got from the NRMP would have stated, "Congratulations, you have matched to a one-year position." Applicants who match to a categorical program (completely matched) receive an email stating "Congratulations, you have matched." See the NRMP website. It gives you details on what the different types of messages are in the "Did I Match?" email.

was it from VCU?

my email was from vcu and I assumed the OP's was too...strange.

The funny part was that it said the sender would be out of office from 2005-2008...
