I'm about to write a letter of intent to a school where I've interviewed but have been put on hold for further review. I've seen different advice about who you should sent the letter to. Should I address it to the Director of Admissions? The Dean? The Admissions Committee? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

I don't know what others will suggest, but I sent mine to the Dean of Admissions in all cases and the Director of Admissions if I met him/her.

The Dean of Admissions will do just fine. Depending on what goes on behind the scenes, your letter may be passed down the pipeline to whomever is overseeing your application. As long as it gets to where it needs to go I wouldn't stress about it too much. Good luck!

It depends how general it is and whether or not you definitely know who the dean is, or whether in fact at the school in question the assistant dean is the more appropriate recipient. Sometimes people get it wrong and address it to the dean of the medical school rather than the dean of admissions...in which case it is safer to address it to "members of the admissions committee."

I am always perplexed by those schools which persist on having really awful websites such that you can't confirm who, for instance the dean is, or the phone # to the admissions office!
