Refund of secondary fee

Greetings,
So in a rush to complete my secondaries,I made the mistake of paying for the secondary fee when I could have requested a fee waiver.I am thinking of contacting the school and asking for a waiver and refund because every dollar will be really helpful in this process.Do you think it will give the schools a bad impression?.How do I go about it?

I know for the MCAT and AMCAS application if you "accidentally" paid before you submitted your fee waiver request they just say "sorry, to bad". My guess is that schools would have the same policy.
