I used to be addicted and smoked about 3 everyday for 2 years. I've quit cold turkey for about a year because I started to feel guilty, and now I regret it. It's done nothing for me but given me a few pats on the back from some people. Should I just get back into smoking or will quitting be worth it in the end?

This sounds very odd posting in the international forum. Either way, don't start smoking again, non-smokers hate smokers with a passion. This is because smokers will puff their acrid smelling smoke in the faces of everyone who walks behind them or walks past them (if they are smoking standing still). It can be compared to someone who constantly farts noxious gas in the face of everyone near them, would you want to talk to a person who did that?

By quitting, people will think better of you as a non-smoker. You managed to quit and thats impressive i.e. pats on the back

Over the long run, this will greatly reduce your risk of cancer. Lung Cancer is the 2nd most common cancer in men and is also one of the deadliest. Smoking increases the risk of not only lung cancer but also throat and oral cancer.

Smoking also turns your teeth yellow, is a costly habit and makes your breath smell bad.

I would think that preventing a slow and painful early death is reward enough. Call me crazy.

(On second thought, I AM crazy for assuming this person isn't a troll. Forget I said anything.)
