I'm finalizing my ERAS app today, and I was wondering if there were any programs that some of you DID NOT apply to, or take seriously, that in retrospect, you wish you would have.

I'll give an example to get you thinking: My friend from school matched at Carolinas this year (his #1), but stated that he didn't even apply to Duke, but wished he had, as he continued to hear that it was really on the upswing from other interviewees on the trail.

I'm applying to 30 or so, but wanted to hear about some programs that I might not have thought of.

By the way, see Napoleon Dynamite if you haven't.

I have no regrets. In fact, I still consider myself exceptionally lucky to still be very happy with my number 1 choice.

I can't imagine being anywere else.

I would advise people to check out West Virginia.

It may not have the greatest on-paper reputation in the world, but the people I met there were awesome. I started with it near the bottom of my rank list, and the more I thought about it, the higher I kept putting WVU. It was next on my match list after ECU, and had there been another couple of weeks before I had to finalize my match list, it might've gone up one or two more slots. Not that I'm dissatisfied with where I'm at, because ECU is perfectly adequate.

I'm sure they work hard up there, but it also looks like they have a really good time doing it.

Thanks for the feeback so far. I want to stay in the south, preferably, but will also work my way up the eastern starboard and into new england. nothing west of the mississippi.....because that's how i roll.

regrets? I regret not keeping my mouth shut in 5th grade...Sara Stewart slapped me....my jaw still stings after a cool breeze.
