I really hate to bring up such a downer subject, but do all schools send out rejection letters if they don't think you're qualified enough for even an interview? I'm just curious if I should still be hopeful if I haven't heard back from some schools, or if I'm keeping my hopes up for nothing? Thanks! 😳

My school didn't even offer the final interview slots until March. I saw that other schools were even later than that. Find your school's thread from last year and people usually talk about interview invites when they get them. Check the dates when the last people were invited and if you don't hear anything by then, that is when you should freak out. Right now it is way too early.

Almost all schools will send you either a letter or an email. It may not be in the very midst of the cycle and rather at the end of it, after all the interviews already been conducted, as a courtesy notice. Hypothetically, all schools should, but there is one school that sent me nothing last year.

Thanks a lot, Diastole and Cheburashka! I guess I'm just psyching myself out, but getting this advice from people who've already been through the process definitely helped ease my nerves. Cheers!

It was funny when I got a rejection email with the subject line, "Rejection Letter" or something like that when I applied the first time around. I knew I had no chances of getting into any schools, I just thought I would apply anyway.

On the subject of rejection letters I thought I would share a funny story:

Last year I have received a rejection email from one of the Texas schools. The funny part: I did not !!!!!! even apply there. Must have been some kind of mix up with pharmcas because it was a standard: " Dear applicant, we are sorry to inform you ...", but it brought my friends an insane amount of joy to remind me each time how I got rejected from that school w/out even so much as applying there.

I "applied" last year, just for practice, because I was not even half way though my prereqs but heard the the appl process, is lenghtly and a bit complex, so just did it at one school to see how it is, and yes, I got the rejection letter after like 3 months. But this year I got the interview, and they said they would send out letters at the end of each month's interview cycle, so supposedly I should get it by mid Nov.

Thanks.
