My friend, with the 18N, has a question. Say he applies now and gets rejected from all schools and retakes the mcat on january 29 and the scores will probably come out february 28 and he gets a score around 24....can he reapply using the AACOMAS to the same schools (that he got rejected from) since some of them have deadlines March 1 and April 15? Will he get any responses or invites for an interview?

Thank you everyone again for your replies.

Some DO schools won't even consider the January MCAT scores. Make sure that the schools you're looking into will.

Furthermore, from what i know, a rejection for this cycle is a rejection. He would have to wait till the next admissions cycle. but don't quote me on that.

Some schools will take another look at your application after a rejection if there is a change in your AACOMAS. Because every time there is a change, the schools get a new AACOMAS.

This will happen few and far between. Schools have sooooo many applications to look through that it's highly unlikely they'll give much of a glance to an application that they already rejected, just because there was an update. I personally don't know of anyone that was rejected by a school and then soon thereafter accepted by that school all in the SAME cycle.

I think your friend will have to apply to next cycle.

I talked to a few schools because I'm taking the Jan MCAT, and because my AACOMAS already states that I'm taking it again (I took it 2 years ago originally) that they will wait for the Jan scores before they make ANY decisions unless of course my current score (20s) is okay for an interview invite without the new score. I did have 5 interviews (MD) before and 1 acceptance.(2 interview withdraws)
