Me too, PsyhcoEm. End of the line, ridiculous, waitlist rejection, April 30th. I emailed them weeks ago and they gave me the run around. I didn't want to go to their crappy program anyhow. It was the most unprofessional set up ever, and I was totally insulted by the professor I interviewed with. Good riddance. Here's to another [better] round of applications in 2007.

Wow, I just got my actual rejection (via e-mail) from Kent. I have still never heard a peep from VT.

It's official: I've been rejected from BU. It seems that this year they had a high number of applications, but limited space so many qualified applicants (including yours truely) had to be rejected. My wife was kind enough to point out that I paid $70 for the hand-signed letter as I readied the shredder, so it now resides in my Death Row Folder awaiting execution, pending appeal. Took them long enough.

And now the dancing bananas:

I posted this in a new thred but thought folks who may have been rejected would be interested. I sincerely wish you all the best.

FYI:
This was just forwarded to me from an APA listserve I'm on...lists openings for masters and phd programs...

Each year, the APA Education Directorate collects information from psychology departments and programs about openings available for the upcoming Fall semester. Students who are still seeking or interested in applying for openings available in various graduate programs can review the listings at the Education Directorate Web site at this link:

I still haven't gotten my rejection from them yet, and also from one other program. I should just show up for class this fall! :p

Thanks for the link, Cosmo. Nowhere I'd consider going, but still interesting to look at.

Well I finally got a paper copy of my rejection from UIC. The best part? In the first sentence there were TWO misused commas. I think, that, is the most annoying, grammatical error, to ever be, created.

How is it possible (with all of the rejections that have been flying around and all of the waitlisting) for there to still be unfilled Ph.D. programs? Seems strange to me...

Most of 'em aren't clinical programs and the ones that are tend to be unfunded PsyD or PhD programs that get a lot of rejections themselves. lol

Gee I see Alliant has 70 unused doctoral openings...maybe I should apply. I haven't graduated yet, but that might not bother them

It is considered unacceptable or against APA rules for a person who accepted admission at a school already, to try to get one of these positions, right? I was assuming that those positions are only for people who have not yet applied or who were not accepted. I am not personally interested, just was checking to see if that's correct.

Well, I finally got some contact from VT. It said the reason the Psychology Faculty didn't recommend my admission was because they had "already accepted the maximum number of students its faculty can support."

What? I don't even get a "you're really good, but we had so many to choose from..." or "while your qualifications are outstanding, you just don't fit our needs..." or something???

Nope! Just "sorry, we're full!"
