Sorry man! 🙁 Have you had/Do you have any interviews or acceptances anywhere else? 👍 👎

I just got rejected by UNECOM. Didn't even get an interview. Ouch! 😱
Stats?

Keep your head up, bro. Different schools look at different things. Hopefully your strengths will be weighed more heavily at another school. Good luck!

I have not heard from UNECOM yet. But I have been accepted to both schools that I interviewed at, and received three more interview invites (Only applied to 6 schools total, so UNECOM just has something up their *&%)
🙂

Hey guys, hope this helps: I got seven interviews (five of which I went on), three acceptances (thus far) and I was rejected from an interview to UNECOM as well. If you didn't get in, it just means the school isnt the one for you!!! 😱

I'm not trying to complain too much because I was accepted at other schools and I'm grateful for that. I was a little mad because I was really interested in UNECOM and they took so long to get back to me (complete in September), and then just a rejection. Somebody wanted stats so here's my profile on mdapplicants.com. http://mdapplicants.com/viewprofile.php?id=4743
Thanks for the condolences from everybody. Ciao. 😀

Wow.. great stats.

Why they didn't interview you??? Who knows.

1) Either way, one possibility is that they know your stats are great, and would most likely end up going to the MD program you applied to. So why bother wasting your time and money interviewing.

2) Maybe it wasn't clear why you wanted UNECOM. I think they like people who definitely want UNECOM, N.East-Maine.

3) Maybe you LOR/ or DO LOR was not strong..

I don't know. But either way you don't have to worry about that. I am sure you will get into Utah or Drexel.

Good luck

I see that you were accepted to DMU and KCOM. I was accepted to those and UNECOM. I would pick KCOM or DMU over UNECOM handsdown. UNECOM seems like a great school. However, in my opinion, DMU and KCOM are better schools.

i've been complete at unecom for a few months and haven't heard anything. i'm assuming a rejection is coming my way. they do seem to really want regional applications, so that might be part of it, but who knows.

Wow, I am really suprised that you guys were rejected straight out. I have much lower stats(3.04/2.83GPA, 25MCAT) and I have an interview with them on January 24th. The only thing I can think of is that I am from NH, have a strong DO letter from a grad of UNECOM who is still very active there, visited UNECOM and expressed my strong desire to go to school there, made them know that it was my number one choice and just tried to be real in my essays. For me, UNECOM is the perfect school and I really do hope that I get in. Good luck to you all wherever you end up. And it never hurts to give Lisa a call just to maybe find out why they rejected you and what they maybe think you could do for the future if you are interested that is. Cheers.

I wouldn't be sure. Their admissions office seems to be extremely slow this year. I was in their first interview group on September 13th and didn't hear a word from them until November 7th. This was 2 weeks past the "within 6 weeks" window they told us.

This whole process is strange. I got accepted to UNECOM, waitlisted at DMU, and rejected pre-interview at KCOM. I'm from Colorado, but I did grow up in the northeast area (more than 20 years ago). I didn't have a letter from a DO, I hadn't visited the campus before. I was very honest in my essays and interviews (which has certainly gotten me killed at other places).

As for when you hear from them, I got an interview (for the end of September) within 1 week of my file complete date, and I got accepted the week after my interview.

I dunno... this whole process is really really weird. And I would have taken UNE over DMU just based on how I was treated on the interview day.

Sup Bro!! Sorry I haven't replied to your e-mail. Just saw you were on here and thought I would chime in as well. 😀
To the OP: Misparas and I were in the first group of interviewees. He and I both did not receive an acceptance letter from them until well outside of their quoted estimate. Shyrem was an outlier b/c she interviewed just at the end of the first cycle and was privy to the first adcom meeting for decisions. There really isn't any logic governing this process of whoring ourselves out just so we can prove that we genuinely want to be a physician (regardless of your flavor preference DO or MD). I applied to 8 schools (4 DO 4 MD) Rejected outright from 2 MD schools, put on the "Intermediate" list for another and still have yet to hear from the 4th one. Out of the 4 DO schools, interviewed at UNECOM, accepted there (FLIPPIN SWEET), was offered an interview at NYCOM turned it down and withdrew my app b/c I was accepted to UNE, Still no word from UMDNJ-SOM and never submitted my 2ndary to LECOM-Erie (lost interest in the school after I read more about it). My undergrad stats are no where near as stellar as yours, nor is my MCrap score. Honesty and a little sugar-coating go a long way. If you were not too convincing in your UNECOM essay then that may have been the proverbial "shot in the foot" which did you in. Buck up though, you've got other things going fer ya! Cheers! 👍 :luck:
