Hi, today I got my first rejection from UOP. I thought to start a rejection thread so that we can estimate the criteria of different schools. This might be helpful for future applicants.
my stats are 86/3.29/99

stats: 84/3.22/96

Guys don't give up. I think with ur stats u will get into some program if not in UoP.
Not trying to show off. I got Uop interview but actually my scores are not better than you. I was kind of surprised.
Here is my stats
Part1 new pattern 86
Part2 81
GPA 3.01
TOEFL 108
I think what made them choose me are factors other than scores, like I got an MS degree in US and I got several publications on dental research.
I hope this can be helpful fe other ppls. Scores don't tell everything.

Rejection is a part of this game..gotta develop a thick skin and not take it personally. Try and apply to the east coast schools also (if you hve not already). Your day to do the banana dance will come🙂

I got my rejection from UOP and have same expectations from other california schools. I was accepted at La Salle University in Mexico for year 2009. Thank God I have something in hand. Cant waste precious years of my life in retaking exams gazillion times with no guarantee for admission. As I am based in CA and this program is for CA, I can't walk away from this offer. I wont do any justice to myself and my profession! I will have a DDS degree and a licence to practice in CA in two years.. Thanks to the California Dental Board for approving this program..🙂

I don't think that you should retake the exam because your Part I score is very competitive. Try to take Part II instead or add more volunteer work.
Good Luck! You will receive invitations from other schools for sure.

Hi guys,

One thing common in most of the posts i could see for there point of rejection is NBDE part II. I think they value more with part I and Part II and the second thing is your individual scores.

Don't feel down. I reaaly know how it feels to be rejected over and over!! I have been in this application poll from 2003 and have been kicked since. But God is great! You just have to beleive that He has a plan for all of us and we'll definitely get there. Atlast, I got accepted at UIC for 2009. So, u see, after 3 times of TOEFL,coz it expired , 2 attempts at NBDE-1, once part-2 and several interviews and rejections later,I can breathe a sigh of releif.
So....don't give up👍..Your turn is around the corner too.

donno why... i was pretty surprised
a couple of my friends whose scores are in 90 also got rejection
its surprising???

Pacific looks a more than just scores. You have good chances in the east coast schools though 🙂

1 yr exp as dentist in India. 4 months observership in US.

Really sorry to hear that. 88 is a decent score and now with 107 in TOEFL it should be good. All the best with BU and NYU.

UOP rejection was on their website
Got a letter from UMinn
and I never heard from Umich, so called them to inquire of my status. The lady told me the applicants called for interview were informed through email. The rest who didnot receive emails were rejected.

Got my first rejection from UCSF.....so hard to swallow the truth.
My stats are 86/95/2.72 and 2 years work experience in my country.

just called Mary Pham (UCSF) and Sandy (UCLA).
rejected at both these places as well. so makes it 5 rejections out of the 6 i applied to.
Time for introspection!!!!😡

I called mary pham and she said that i needed to add to my work exp..(i have abt a year of work exp)....ive recently graduated.🙄..nevertheless, call and ask in case u havent received a call.UCSF has a very well organized admission office and she will tell u where u fall short...its better than to beat urself up in an attempt to decipher it for urself and reaching (at times) preposterous conclusions.(ive heard some).

but on a serious note, u seem to have work exp in the USA dont u ??thats a decided advantage..i have my inhibitions there.....anyways...thanks again...im going to stop cribbing about not having worked enuf and channelize my energy towards finding a new reason!
