I may have missed something, but as anyone been sent a rejection letter POST-INTERVIEW? If you don't want to post it here in fear of public humiliation (which is silly, because we're all pulling for each other here), please PM me as I really want to know. I haven't heard ANYTHING from them...and after hearing that so many people have (positive) responses really makes me worried.

Thanks

I only applied to two places, UCD and RCSI, so its partly my fault. I was accepted to the interview because of the excellent marks in high school and flew from Vancouver to New York with my family. Stayed in the Sheraton hotel bla bla. Before the interview I spent a lot of time preparing and researching for the interview, and thought i was going to get in after reading SND forums.

However at the interview i think 1 question killed me. I got really stumped on the question "Why dont you go to college instead of RCSI?". We talked about it for HALF the interview. Why I would be TOO YOUNG getting MD at 22 years and college was good for me ... the experience and maturity and all that crap. Obviously I thought off 100 reasons on the airplane flight back what I could have said but it was too late then.

And anyway I thought I might still have gotten into RCSI due to my very good marks. But I was rejected 2 weeks later...I am super pissed b/c RCSI was my dream med school.

Sorry to hear this, but never give up hope,
Also, what kind of questions do they ask?

The interview itself was pretty easy like everyone else says. I doubted everyone else who had said this, but just like everyone else I was proven wrong. It is just like a conversation with a friend. However, there are some standard questions that you should always prepare for such as describe yourself, why do you want to study in Ireland/Our institution, how are you going to finance your education, what are your interests, how did you get interested in medicine. There are absolutely no trick questions, just don't get stumped on a very easy question like why do you like medicine? or they may doubt you. That is why i got rejected. Anyway I don't care anymore, because I got accepted at UCD.

They have these question written down on a list. They also throw in questions like how is your high school.... What are your friends like. BE HONEST. They dont expect you to know all the answers. Hope this helps.
