Should I reply to those confirmation emails that confirm the interview date?
Something like "Thank you, looking forward to meeting you".

I think it's unnecessary and would just waste the program coordinator's time.

But what do you think?

It probably wouldn't waste anyone's time.
Worst case is they'll open your email, they'll see your one-sentence reply, and then they'll just close the email and go about their day.
Best case, they'll appreciate your manners.
However, some confirmation emails seem to beckon a response more so than others.
I'd say play it by ear.

Most of mine are clearly canned responses that have been altered for my name and the date of my interview. There has been only one that was clearly written off cuff and I did reply with a "thank you", but other than that I haven't sent anything.

I say just be yourself. If you'd thank anyone for inviting you to something (or confirming your invitation) in real life, then say thanks. If you probably wouldn't, then don't. I say don't force it either way... and I definitely wouldn't recommend thanking someone primarily because they have something to offer you, eventually that type of stuff becomes transparent and backfires.

Did you thank them already when you scheduled your interview? 👍

If I put myself in their shoes, if I was already thanked... then its fine.

Yeah, of course I do that when I reply to the invitation emails.

Yes, I have replied with 'Thank You' to all interview invites/confirmation.
