i saw that someone received a secondary on the 18th, and it was due on the 1st.

Is that normal, for schools to give a limited amount of time to return the secondary?

I think for schools that receive a ton of applications it may be. I know Northwestern does.

Almost all my schools don't have time limits. Exceptions are OSU, UConn, Wustl, Northwestern, and some of those might be more or less stringent than others.

Loyola was the only one I had with a time limit. IMO, turning your secondaries quickly is important. I believe many applicants will sit and prepare their AMCAS, and submit this early, but will procrastinate on the secondaries, perhaps because they are overwhelmed by the sheer number of them.

Michigan State has a time limit as well...

Note that UCONN doesn't really have a deadline, if you email them and explain the delay.

OP,

speaking generally every secondary has a time line of "As soon as you can possibly get it done without forfeiting any quality". That being said some schools do have specific time windows for turning them in, and a few really don't care. If you want to take the time to remember the rules for all of them than you have more super human powers than I will. I'd just try to do the ones with specific dates first and the rest next but all of them ASAP.

Good luck to you :luck:

Maybe it would be helpful to make a list of all the schools and their secondary turn-around rules?
