Hello,
regarding international electives, what are the requirements(specifically for FP)? Does an American board certified doctor have to be present at the international site, or can you work with the local doctors? I understand there are many requirements that need to be met if you are doing required rotations, but what about for electives? I thought that you can do an elective in anything you are interested in, whether it is hands on or not, whether there is an American board certified dr. there or not.....????

thanks!

All depends on what the requirements are with your program. Those programs that are university-based or university-affiliated tend to be stricter in their requirements (i.e., working with a U.S. trained physician, or if not available a physician who is affiliated with an international university, has published papers, etc).
